"Nice old-time pub stay; but mattress needs replacing"

I liked the old-timey pub atmosphere. This is what a pub stay was like, friendly and welcoming, and truly British. before Travelodge killed that style of hotel with their sterile, spartan style. Location was very convenient and walkable for many types of (mostly) fast-food and takeaway restaurants.

The bed was way too soft. Risky if you have any back issues. This bed needs to be replaced with a proper modern 1000-pocket spring mattress. Unfortunate because other aspects were good.

Staff very friendly and the location was where I was needed to be. Great value for money.

A minor smell in the room from what appeared to be a damp carpet.
