Quinta Maria Cortez Beach Hotel

Great beachfront location, amazing staff and lots of personality

Quinta Maria Cortez is a little gem on the beach! The property is absolutely beautiful - we stayed in one of the king deluxe rooms with a view of the ocean and it did not disappoint! The staff is wonderful - Fabian in particular had great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. The beach itself is fairly quiet and secluded, which is what we were looking for - good drinks made by the bartender and even a small snack/menu that is available on the beach. The property is also close enough to walk to the Zona Romantica and some of the best restaurants, but Ubers are also readily available in the area (we walked into town about half the time). Overall, amazing experience!

Service at breakfast was slow, since they have a small kitchen and everybody tended to have breakfast around the same time. Also, the beach itself is amazing, but the entrance into the water is very rocky. We did not mind it, but you need water shoes and this is by no means a downside of the property itself, as much as the landscape in PVR.

We stayed over Christmas and had a wonderful time. Some of the best service we have ever experienced. Such a fun hotel and the people working there made our visit outstanding. Fun Christmas stay. Rooms are comfortable,food was good….we will return

I like the beach scenery, the spacious room, the history of the hotel.

The staff couldn't fix the tv to be in English. I had to figure it out myself. They gave no resolution to the problem. And too much construction.

It was an absolutely amazing stay. We loved our room and were impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. The beach in front of the property is gorgeous.

There was construction during our stay, but they ended by 6:00 p.m. each day so it wasn't much of a bother.

I have always loved the location of Quinta Maria. Right on the beach, easy walk into town, and most rooms face the beach. It's a perfect location if you want to be near the action but in a quiet place

Character of hotel has changed with the renovations. They were in the middle of renovating and it was noisy all day. I shouod have been told how bad the noise would be.

It was clean and the staff were really nice. We had a good check-in experience with fresh guac and margaritas. The hotel is right on the water and felt safe, and the views are really nice. Outside of the construction, it was quiet and in a nice area. It's a nice walk to Zona Romantica and the Malecón.

The hotel is undergoing major renovations, so there is dust everywhere and the pools were all not running. It's very loud when they're working. The room we were in had no windows and no soundproofing so it sounded like we were right in the kitchen. There was also no full wall between the bathroom and the bed, and there was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom, so this can get a little uncomfortable. We were offered a room upgrade for 80 USD / night on the first day (to a room with windows), but we didn't take this offer up. The first night we were there, there was no water for a couple hours because someone had accidentally turned it off. They have a restaurant onsite but there were no other patrons and the food we had was a little stale and seemed like it had been in the freezer for awhile. They'll offer you breakfast for 20USD / person / day but looking at what they have to offer it doesn't seem all that worth it especially when there's so much good food around you. Drinks here are also 3 times the price of what they are outside the hotel. (And the bar had no bourbon, but they are newly opened so this might just be teething issues). We left a couple days early because it wasn't really a good experience.

It was unfortunate as the hotel was doing renovations that were very loud and throughout the hotel. We booked it as we were hoping for a quiet atmosphere. No matter where we where on the property work was being done with no privacy. Dust coated everything. Wet paint was not posted and so at one point my husband got paint on him. We felt an inconvenience to the workers, they were outside our room and had to navigate them and it felt very awkward. At first we thought it probably would not to bad as we only knew of the renovation upon arrival. The noise was so loud it felt like a bad comedy. The last straw was the cold shower that never warmed up.
