Lulworth Cove Inn

The room was really comfortable and having a balcony to relax & read a book in the sunshine was wonderful. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the breakfast selection as good as any you'd find anywhere. Beware though, the portion sizes are large so work up an appetite by exploring the amazing location.

We are used to king size bed so a normal double bed was the only challenge for us.

Close to the beach

I booked a surprise stay here for my other half’s birthday through booking.com - I paid £20 for the ‘Pay at property’ option because we have a joint account and we both get transaction notifications on our phones. The day before check in, I received a text telling me I needed to use a link to pay, so I called the hotel and was assured it was just a system thing and that I could pay on arrival. At around 3pm the next day, they billed the whole room to my card. Not only did this completely ruin a whole surprise I had been planning, but also I feel it was an unauthorised transaction. I called the hotel and Aaron was very apologetic. On arrival, we received a bottle of Prosecco in the room and decided to take a bath. While sitting in the bath I noticed a dirty tissue hadn’t been cleaned up from under the bed. When we tried to sleep, we realised that the blinds and curtains didn’t block out enough light, so didn’t sleep very well. The breakfast was very nice, but the final nail in the coffin was trying to get showers before checkout and realising that the cold water had been turned off - the shower, bath and sink only had scalding water.
