The Cherry Tree Hotel

Room was comfortable, and had everything we needed. Shower was very good and hot. Breakfast had a lot of options, very good service

Only decaf tea and coffee in the room Walls are paper thin so could hear next doors tv Window would not shut properly, and it was a very windy night so heard lots of banging outside.

The key system was faulty and we were lovked out on a number of occasions

A very nice place, with a few minor details it would be excellent.

Spoke to the staff and advised we would be late, they said keys would be in box but we’re not on following instructions. Had interrupted sleep from noises/people walking past room late at night

Mostly clean, clean towels and carpet etc. Very lovely decor and a nice location!

I sent the below email to the Cherry Tree as I don’t like making complaints public, however, no response was received so I feel like I need to post this here now: Good afternoon, I am contacting you via email as I didn’t want to leave a public review prior to discussing some issues with our stay first. We spoke to the person working on the desk initially but sadly we were so keen to leave and so exhausted before a long drive we just had to get going before anything was resolved! We discussed that we were kept awake until 4am by the couple in the room next to us. We were not sure who/how to contact or if staff were at the property to deal with these issues so I messaged the number that contacted me about the stay but sadly no one was on hand to help. It is not your fault that the other guests were so rude and inconsiderate but soundproofing is poor so perhaps letting guests know what to do/who to contact if there are issues at night would be helpful. Further to this - the glasses in the room were unclean and we were not given any codes for the wifi. We checked in later in the day so didn’t want to be a pain as the person who showed us in seemed keen to leave. No help with bags either despite us struggling! Also, the listing says that the room we staying in had a shower and bath but there was only a shower. This was misleading as I was looking forward to relaxing in a hot bath! Everything else was lovely but it just felt like these small issues could be fixed so easily for the future.

Polite, helpful host, great location for visiting Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, facilities as described and very clean. Breakfast area that doubles up with a lovely country cafe once the hotel Breakfast has finished which is also great quality and value for money.

There was a large party in the hotel so we had the last available room, small but perfect for our overnight stay but there was one unfortunate situation, we arrived, it was a twin room, the case placed on the floor, my husband sat on one of the beds and it collapsed!!! The slats not the legs, our host was very apologetic and immediately found new slats and repaired it, I suggested my husband sat at the piiow top end, unfortunately the slats at the top broke, once again the host was excellent and repaired the bed! As stated couldn't move rooms as the hotel was fully booked. So recommend new, sturdier beds purchased. An unfortunate 😕 occurrence as everything else about our overnight stay.
