Southern Grand Kashi - Inside Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor

The room size and comfy bed.

The overall experience was disastrous. Very inconvenient to enter/exit with luggage as it is a restricted area being in Kashi Vishwanath corridor. The hotel doesn't even have a kitchen to serve morning tea. Every time you come back from outside, with any bags, shopping stuff, you need to call hotel staff to come to Gate no. 4 where you need to wait to be escorted after your bags are scanned. Such a waste of time, energy and money!

The staff was very positive. Location is good.

Reaching the location. The approach road is blocked for vehicular traffic during the day and one has to depend on the cycle rickshaw.

Fantastic stay

The reception and the room staff were good, special thanks to Umesh, the room staff and Ananda the reception staff. Umesh was responding to all our requests without delay. On the whole the staff were very good.

In the pictures of the rooms, they say there is a safety locker, but they don't have a locker in the room. Bathroom doesn't get cleaned properly, but when requested they cleaned it. The most disappointing thing is eventide we enter the hotel after prayers in Kashi Viswanath temple, the police officers who were outside the hotel search our bags. Even if we don't have bags they ask questions and stop us. The guests of Southern Grand Kashi should not have to explain everything where we are going to or coming from. The hotel should have a better procedure to handle this issue. Our soul purpose of the visit to Kashi and staying in Southern Grand is to go to the temple as often as we could and to have a hassle free stay. Hope the hotel will take this feedback back and improve. It's very humiliating when we go for prayers. Otherwise it's a convenient place to access the main temple.

Good location, only suitable if you have less luggage.

Terrible service. Room is not clean, dirt everywhere. Not worth the money. Transport is blocked within a mile radius, so careful if you have more baggage.

Location. It's proximity to Vishwanath temple, Anapoorna temple, ghat, other temples like Kaal bhairav, atma veereshwar, Vishalakshi and also main godowalia and chowk market.

Restaurant not available in hotel.

Location was good inside corridor with highly security personnel present which is understoodable.

No food you will get....you have to reach by walking long way if auto not allowed due to heavy traffic.....we faced lot of problems due to blockages of galli & roads. don't expect much just stay only possible....

The property is located inside the corridor premise, it has easy access to Ghat area and other near by temples. if the motive is more to visit temple and near by, this is perfect place to go with. However please note you have to walk 600-800 meters in order to get a cab if you wanna explore other places in Varanasi.

The hotel reservation team was too annoying. I made a booking almost 2-3 months back, before 20 days of actual arrival they started calling me to make payment (this was against booking.com policy). They stated reason as due to very much crowd we are only keeping reservations who are paying upfront. I spoke with booking dot com team and confirmed the policy and denied the payments. But they kept calling and on top they send me message that my booking is cancelled, while actually it was not. Thankfully booking dot com team was so helpful in this, however the property reservation team has wasted lot of my time. I would have cancelled the reservation if they did this kind of attitude when i actually made the booking, and not when they saw demand of rooms. Pathetic experience. For anyone booking via booking dot com. please note, you are not liable to make any payment and stick to your policies written on booking website.
