"Nice location BUT"

4.0

This place really needs to update their decor - rooms and halls look the same as many years ago. It felt old and neglected and not very clean. Single rooms are quite small - the suites are nicer. The parking lot in front is in disrepair and the signage is old. Over all, it is just not very appealing, when there are other options out there. If you like to boat, shop and golf this is the place for you.

"Rooms in need of renovation"

4.0

Disappointed in the room condition. Old everything..stained carpet. Mold in the bathroom. Bedspreads old. The beds were really old. My guess over 20 years. The bar and dining were good nice kids working there. Nice patio and Beach.. I'm surprised they do so many weddings with the room condition. No elevator if you have any issues with stairs

"Saddd"

2.0

Took my wife back to this place after 16 years of taking her here before we were married. Thought it would be nice and more accommodating, but ended up far from it! Rooms outdated. We went to the restaurant, was sat inside and waited 35 minutes for service. I even held a empty beer glass up for all servers to see. Not one of the 7 acknowledged that we were there. We hopped in the car and went to Zorbaz and got immediate service. Manhattan beach resort (both the resort and the restaurant) is an absolute joke. Never ever will I bring my wife, kids, or anyone else here ever again!

"Nice variety of food"

6.0

Went for a dinner on a week night. Food was good but not spectacular good. I loved the duck wontons. We had tacos and brussel sprouts as well. The entrees looked pretty good but spendy and we weren't hungry enough to commit.

"What a letdown!"

4.0

Came here for a family gathering. Place is totally handicapped UNACCESIBLE! The only good thing was the drink at the bar. The room was up an impossible staircase. Room was very small. Fan in bathroom sounded like a helicopter. Spider webs on the lamps plus scars on the wall. An alarm clock that did not work. A very bad experience!

"Lodge grounds definitely need maintenance"

2.0

The back side property has beautiful views. The actual grounds need so much work. Weeds everywhere. Beds are very old so don't expect to sleep well and walls are thin so you will hear everything your neighbors are doing. Everything. Definitely over priced.

"Wedding Weekend Trip"

2.0

Manhattan Beach Lodge was supposed to be a nice quiet wedding retreat for my girlfriends Sister’s wedding. It has turned into the most horrible customer service situation I have even experienced Crystal Glaser has been incredibly rude not returning calls and when we checked in our reservation was still messed up. Originally the confirmation was room 124 for Friday to Monday. We had specifically requested this room, so the bridal party could utilize it. We were given a different room and it was only for Friday to Sunday not Monday as the confirmation showed. The room they gave us had a moldy bathroom with visible black mold on the walls and tub as well as urine stains on the bed. Crystal would not adjust our room and told us they only had that room available and at no discount. I waited until the shift changed to the night staff and Seth was able to accommodate us to a clean room. Would have left if it wasn't for my girlfriend’s sister’s wedding being on location. It was also raining during the event weekend and they had buckets around the eating area catching water as it dripped through the ceiling. The hot tub area that we had looked forward to using while there was closed all weekend. Would never return and caution anyone who is considering this location for a getaway or other event to stay far away. Dirty, unhealthy eating area due to water leaks, mold and no compensation offered. Highly recommend against this facility. I would attach photos if google allowed it.

"Food is just OK"

6.0

The cute Caesar salad was barely big enough for a child and the dry white bread could not have been worse. Their crused walleye was above average and was served with a very strange fish dipping sauce - which we weren’t sure what it was. At least the entree was at the very least, worth the stop.

"Long weekend getaway"

8.0

We booked a mini suite with balcony, which actually a deck with four steps down to the lush lawn. Comfortable bed, couch, semi divided sleep area, and mini kitchen and best of all for my husband a recliner! The lawn had many Adirondack chairs for lake viewing and boat watching. We do wish we had brought a boat as free dockage. Crosslake has minimal shopping or things to do but made a short trip to Nisswa where shops were plentiful. We will return to this resort.
