"Beautiful location needs some updating"

6.0

This is a beautiful setting right on the water. With a restaurant and bar attached. We loved the place but the beds definitely need updating. Hard mattresses and lumpy pillows. If they got new beds I would be back. Also it was hard to find anyone to check us in. Didn't seem to have anyone manning the front desk. Once they got there they were very helpful.

"Great bar/restaurant"

10.0

One of the best bars on the Whitefish Chain! Could hang at their Tiki bar all day and Daryl is a great bartender. It’s family friendly as the kids always have fun playing at the beach. They have the best sunset view!

"Nice weekend stay"

8.0

Relaxing stay with a beautiful view. Our room and the lodge could use some updating (even a fresh coat of paint would help) but it was clean and comfortable. The lawn and beach area are well maintained and it was nice they provided Adirondack chairs. We could have done without the children running up and down the hallway but a call downstairs and it ended quickly. Staff was very friendly.

"Bingo night "

2.0

We arrived at 6:00 bingo by 5:30 We were told bingo was full by a rude and unhelpful staff person. No apologies even though the over flow area was 1/4 full. However, bingo rep was very nice , reason people wait until Thursday night to bingo at Commanders. Also a party of 14 left due to your rude staff person. Hundreds of dollars lost, Andy's down the road got our food and drink dollars.

"What did we pay for?"

4.0

Just sold our cabin in the area and decided to spend the long holiday weekend on the chain anyways. We booked a king suite. No one at the front desk when we arrived, and no one has been there or available for any help throughout the stay either. Most times I have gone to the restaurant hostess desk for help there isnt anyone there either or the person there sends me back to the hotel desk and says someone is there and will help me. Disappointing that guests with boats just have to wait out in the lake for a slip to open up if other people coming in for the bar or restaurant have filled all the spaces. With a toddler that can be difficult. I would rather pay for a private slip at the dock for my stay. Dock service is lacking, with maybe having help tying up 1/15 times we pulled in. The beach area is great for our toddler to play in the sand and in the mornings there are plenty of chairs in the shade. I do wish the beach was cleaned up from the night before. I had to pick up straws and cigarette butts for a while to have a clean place for kids to play. The room is old and worn out, but very clean and still comfortable. AC worked great, and plenty of hot water. My biggest issue was with the restaurant staff telling us at 12:15 that they wouldnt have enough food to serve us lunch because they were fully booked for dinner reservations and they are “very protective of their kitchen”. So we drove into town to find lunch else where. Came back, and throughout the afternoon boats pulled in and people sat down on the patio and were served lunch. Either this is a big communication issue, or they dont care about their guests and only want to keep boat traffic coming in. We were never able to get a dinner reservation either, since it was fully booked every night of our stay. Maybe save a few lunch/dinner spots for your own guests? We will not be staying here again as it was very inconvenient to have to leave every time we wanted a meal and the room itself was definitely not worth the price we paid per night.
