Daiju Myoko - Renovated in 2025

Very cozy place walking distance from Akakura Onsen resort, which also gets you access via lifts to Akakura Kanko. The hotel offering a shuttle to Suginohara was also very nice.

Such a great place to stay. Warm clean rooms, amazing food and wonderfully accommodating hosts. The free shuttle/transportation services was definitely a big draw for us and made getting out and exploring all the nearby ski resorts worry free. And the lodge is still close enough to town to walk in after a day on the slopes to stretch your legs. Upon our arrival, the shuttle bus was actually an hour earlier than anticipated. We had arranged to be picked up when the bus landed but with a quick last minute phone call, the lodge van was there in a flash and we didn't have to wait in the blowing snow. I call that a warm welcome. The food. Oh how fantastic, extensive, traditional and varied The food was! We had planned on eating out most nights, but after comparing what was on offer at the lodge to the local restaurants, we ended up eating at the lodge most nights, and were always impressed with the taste and quality of the spread. They were also accommodating to our vegetarian dietary needs. The breakfasts were a lot bigger and better than we had expected when booking. We always started the day with delightfully full bellies ready to tackle the slopes and weather. The lounge room was brightly lit, modern, warm and inviting. With large TV and tea facilities available throughout the day. The room was clean, simple, had great lofted ceilings and was nice and warm. The drying room was a good size with plenty of shelving and kept nice and warm so that our gear was always ready to go in the morning. Would book here again in a heartbeat.

The place was perfect for us. We were actually surprised there weren't more people there!
