Nunoya Ryokan

Traditional, beautiful ryokan in a great location in Matsumoto. Delightful staff who spoke fantastic English, and a short walk to Matsumoto castle and countless izakayas. Bathroom was located at the bottom of the stairs but was privste to our room and well equipped. Thick, comfy futon in a traditional room in a very old building. If you’re into heritage architecture and potential hauntings, this ryokan delivers on both.

The staff are lovely. The bathrooms are clean and modern, great showers. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and comfortable bedding. The location was great

This was the most wonderful ryokan we have stayed in. The 100 year old building is beautifully preserved and there is a blend of authentic and beautiful Japanese style rooms and a very luxurious bathroom as well. We stayed in room 5 and knew about the bathroom being a very short distance across the same hallway as our room (literally 5 steps away). It had a lovely natural hinoki / Japanese cypress scent from the walls. The ryokan is perfectly situated on a lovely street for shopping and restaurants. Our hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this ryokan and would happily visit again. Thank you very much!!

Nothing we didn't like.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. L’accueil était chaleureux, le personnel adorable et très attentionné. L’établissement, traditionnel et plein de charme, est vraiment agréable. Les lits étaient d’un confort incroyable, l’emplacement est idéal, et le parking disponible est un vrai plus. Nous repartons avec un très bon souvenir et recommandons sans hésiter !

テレビが無くて静かに過ごせました。

下のフロアの会話がよく聞こえるしまうのは少し残念でした。

We hadden een kamer met eigen badkamer op de gang en futonbedden. Het was leuk om eens in een origineel Japans gebouw te slapen en niet in een modern flatgebouw. De bedden waren verrassend comfortabel. Tijdens ons verblijf moest mijn man naar het ziekenhuis. Vanuit het hotel ging er spontaan iemand met ons mee om te vertalen en te helpen met het invullen van alle formulieren. Dat was echt fantastisch, want het ziekenhuis weigerde iedereen die geen Japans sprak. Iedereen was supervriendelijk en belangstellend. Ook fijn: de soort van huiskamer waar je koffie en drankjes kon halen. Ontbijt was in het bijbehorende restaurantje te krijgen.

De stoelen op de kamer waren, in stijl, heel erg laag. Dat is leuk als je 18 bent, maar een uitdaging als je iets minder flexibel bent.
