HOTEL DOLPHIN GRAND

The room was pretty clean, but upon looking more closely at one of the provided bottled waters, the seal had been broken and it was filled to a different level than the other bottle with an unbroken seal.

What a fabulous find in the midst of such an amazing and vibrant city. A real oasis when a bit of peace and quiet was required. A great welcome by the whole excellent staff , including the ever helpful Krishna with his huge smile. The room was extremely well maintained, clean and comfortable. The food and service in the restaurant was as of a very good standard. The hotel is well located for walking and short rickshaw rides to all the main sights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend it highly to anyone visiting Varanasi.

Very clean hotel, great service

Location is good if you want to walk down to the ghats. Restaurant is good, but vegetarian only. Room is a decent size and it all worked well but a thermostatic shower mixer would have been nice. WiFi is good. Having learned more about that area of town, I'd definitely stay there again.

Be warned: NOT ALL ROOMS HAVE WINDOWS. I booked an executive twin room and we were given a windowless triple. Third bed was a rollaway bed positioned against the wall by the (not) window. Immediately returned to the front desk to ask to switch rooms. After much back and forth, we were told nothing else was available until the next day. I could tell the staff member felt or perceived me as an entitled westerner and displayed a poor attitude, though he did offer to have staff arrange to hand carry our luggage to the new room assignment while we were out touring. He kept his word and the new room, directly above, indeed had a window and was a true double accommodation. We respectfully apologized to each other for any malcontent. (Both) Rooms were extremely clean, though I am not a fan of the wet room-type bathroom. Hotel needs more universal power outlets. Location is close to the Ganga and ceremonies, but extremely busy and noisy. Good for walking tours. (Noted: We happened to visit during the wedding anniversary of Krishna, so doubly noisy and probably not normal.) Breakfast buffet was adequate. They cater more to Indian diets, so be prepared and try something new. No soya or plant-milk alternatives provided (typical of all the hotels we frequented in India). Laundry service was done same day, turned in at breakfast time. Friends, we gave them a separate bag each, but it was returned combined all into one, which completely defeated our purposes for billing.

Great value & food with western standards met

숙소상태는 양호했어요. 근처 케랄라 남인도 식당음식도 괜찮았구요. 호텔에서 고돌리아 교차로까지 접근성도 양호했어요. 호텔룸 티브는 유료라 티브시청은 못했습니다.

We could not get hot water,to shower. When called the front desk he said , they will turn the machine on, and hot water will be available in 10 min. After 10 min when I called , the front desk help said he cannot tell me when the hot water will be available. After 20 min offered to bring hot water in a bucket, if needed. In short had to shower in cold water. We were a family of 8, so all of us had to shower in cold water. The oldest member was 72 yrs old. Very upsetting after paying this kind of money.

Staff at Grand Dolphin were very helpful and courteous, starting from the front desk management to the dining staff. Laksmi from the reservation team made my car bookings to Ayodhya, Boat Tour for Ganga Aarati and Airport pick up. Prices were reasonable and she was very responsive to my requests. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Varanasi.
