The Lodge Luxury Resort At Lake Harmony

We got there at 3:40 for a 4pm check-in & they kept telling us to come back in a little while because our room wasn't ready. After the 3rd attempt, I called and they put me on hold for over 20 minutes before I hung up and went back in a 4th time. This went on until about 5:30. When we finally did get our room, it wasn't the lake-view 2 queen bed room we booked, it was a single king room (with no sofa bed) for four of us to sleep in, overlooking the parking lot. They tried to confuse us at check-in by saying it was an upgrade with 2 kings, but what it ended up being was a second king room a few doors down-did they expect my 1-year old & 4-year old to sleep there by themselves? We did not use that room but by that point I was too exhaused to drive back over there & argue. Then we went outside to the lakeside beach, the whole reason that we were at the lodge at Split Rock, and it was closed for water saftey reasons. Another visitor told me it had been like this for 2 years-yet the 'resort' fails to mention. They also did not have clean drinking water in the main hotel. Ok, well i could still use the hot tub at least-nope, that was murky & yellow with a sign that it would be cleaned in 2 days. The sauna was also closed. The waterpark- which was another reason we came-had more than 50% of the equipment/areas out of order, including all of the water slides & splash park, but that didn't stop them from charging almost full price for passes. Sadly mismanaged :(

This feels like it might have been a nice place many years ago. But the lake looks full of algae and yucky. The pool and hot tub were mostly clean but not inviting. Communication at the front desk was poor and my questions seemed to annoy the person checking me in. The shades in our room had a remote and the battery was dead (big plus, maintenance came soon and the guy was very competent and nice). Very thin blankets on the bed and no extras. Hot water came in and out in the shower. We will not be coming back!

Beds were comfortable and good quality bedding and towels. Area was pretty with a lake view. Communication was terrible. Check in sign said to go to another location to check in, with no directions to that location and no staff to ask. Calls to desk were unanswered when we got locked out. Shower water was luke warm, hair dryer was weak and replacement broke.

There was no one to register us and we had to go to a different location to check in. Hot tub and pool were filthy. There was no breakfast included but said there was in description. There were no wash cloths in room, AC did not work well at all, stated at 70 degrees. There was no restaurant at property that was clean and open. The lake was unable to be used.

Super outdated property, very confusing with check-in at different location. Disappointed with the lagoon, i never would let my kids swim in there.

This place needs to be bulldozed and rebuild to modern standards. It is so outdated and so many problem. No elevator at all in the building. There is a part of the building that is so old and black looking it looks like it may have caught on fire. I would never stay at this place again just too bad.

The lake

I stayed in the lodge, which was pretty decent. Although there is no housekeeping. The town center has no air-conditioning and every single building was moldy and smelled like old cigarettes. I would never stay here again.

Check-in was not at the building we were staying in. Had a desk, but no one was there. Saw a sign that said to check in at another building, so we did that. Lake is not for swimming because of polluted water. All other lakes in the area are active with swimmers. They claimed it was because of the rain water. Didn't seem to effect other lodges in the area. The lodge itself had no elevators or handicap access. This was not mentioned when I made the reservations and it wasn't posted anywhere on site. Anyone off the road could come in and wander around. It did not seem to have any noticeable security. Called the front desk number provided and no one answered. I was able to leave a message, but that was useless, because no one ever called me back. Restaurants were fine; entertainment was fine; room and amenities were good. Very poor communication by the lodge's management.

They advertise as LUXRY but is not. So much went wrong o can’t even write it out
