The Tides by the Sea

We are really happy with this property! It's located in a 'quiet' part of town, without the hustle (noise) of cars and the hustle of the high retail areas. The staff are extremely helpful, no matter what the question. And they definitely know the ins and outs of the area- a great resource for suggestions on food, activities, or just general sightseeing. Mary was very helpful in matching our needs to the units, and we ended up in one that definitely met our needs. The room was clean, comfortably furnished, and as close to the beach as one can get. It would have been nice to have a balcony to watch the ocean from, but the windows were large and clean, and it was warm inside. Would we stay there again? Absolutely!

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We stayed in room 130 — everything was very clean and well maintained. The room had all the necessary kitchen and bathroom amenities. There is also a grill, beach access, and beautiful views. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again!

We had a wonderful view of the beach from our condo. The beds were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I have stayed here many times and never had a bad experience.

Super friendly staff. Nicely decorated. Lovely setting. Clean with well equipped kitchen. Sunset was amazing. Lovely beach right out the door.

Where to begin- when we arrived, we went to the front office and was given a code. When we got to the unit, that code didn’t work so she had to remote open the unit and send us a new code. When we got in, it was humid to the point where everything felt damp nd had a mildew smell. With our group size, we needed to use the pull out bed in the sofa and it was disgusting with visible stains. There was no bedding or pillows for the pull out bed and none were ever brought to us even after we requested pillows from the front desk. We ended up putting the sofa cushions under the pullout mattress so we didn’t feel the bars and I almost went to sleep in my car as that probably would have been more comfortable. The bathroom was visibly dirty in the tub with stains, so bring shower shoes. The kitchen cabinets were sticky and visibly dirty as well. Thankfully I did get a partial refund because it was a horrible nights stay. No one slept because even the regular beds made noise with every motion and we could hear the people above us. The only redeeming quality was that the location was wonderful with an easy walk to the beach. Overall, do not waste your time. I booked on Airbnb for almost $400 for 1 night which is a joke for how much of a dump (unit 141) was. Total rip off.

We requested an early check-in, but were denied, which is fine. Here is Doug, the clerk's text: " Check in is guaranteed by 4 pm, but if your room is ready before then, we can give you a call". Upon arrival, we were told by the clerk that the room would be ready in EXACTLY seven minutes, GUARANTEED. Kind of odd, but, ok. At that time, we went to the room and saw maids still cleaning. I asked how much longer, and they replied 30 minutes! I went back and told Doug, who agreed they dropped the ball. I asked for a refund, and he said it should be no problem and consulted the assistant manager, Mary, who agreed to the refund. Then Chuck walked in and said no. When told this was guaranteed by his staff, he replied, “What does guaranteed even mean?” We left and found a room elsewhere. We appealed, and here is the manager's reply: " Also if you read the check in details check-in is between 4pm and 6pm." Imagine that. The place has a seedy feel to it. And not just the rooms.

My name is Ron Beesley, I live in Great Falls, Montana.....My daughter Tammy Berry and her family had a 9 day reservation this month...They were in the 3rd day, and Got word from me that her mother (My wife of over 66 years), and her mother for 65 years, passed away, naturally Tammy had to leave the motel early and come be with me, as all family members should...She asked the motel for a refund for the last 6 days, and they refused, and they knew damn well they could get other people to stay there, which I'm sure they did, and now they are getting paid for the same service twice...If everyone knows this is how greedy you are, I'm sure you would not get the business you get now....I would expect this motel to immediately refund their credit card for the un-used days...Ron Beesley phone number 406-761-6342...
