"Solaz A Lack-Lux-ury Resort"

I made the horrible mistake of choosing the Solaz Resort. I visited June 13, 2025 and checked out early on June 14, 2025. Strike 1 - Welcome Hoax I entered Solaz Resort Los Cabos filled with excitement, eager to celebrate my fiancé's birthday in what seemed to be a luxurious destination in San Jose del Cabo. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm quickly turned into disappointment. Upon arriving, we were greeted with the standard welcome drink and a cool towel, but that was where the pleasant experience ended. During check-in with Nestor, I inquired about a suite upgrade as a platinum elite member—a request I had submitted in advance to enhance the birthday celebration. To my surprise, my request went unaddressed until I specifically asked about it; I was then simply offered a higher floor. Nestor informed me that he needed to consult with his manager, claiming no suites were available. As I waited, I couldn’t help but notice another family nearby who had the same elite status and was promptly upgraded to the suite of their choice—without any obstacles. This sparked my confusion, especially since they were receiving preferential treatment right in front of us. When I raised my concerns with Nestor, he seemed taken aback, almost as if he assumed I wouldn’t notice the difference in service levels. I was then told that my upgrade to a higher floor would be ready shortly, with the suite potentially available in a few hours or even the next day. I couldn’t fathom the idea of a room taking a day and a half to clean. Strike 2 - More Disappointment (Bad food and Service) Next came the dining experience, which proved to be another letdown. While waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to have lunch at the hotel around 3:30 PM. Despite the bar being largely empty, the bartender barely acknowledged our presence. The food we ordered was disappointing, with my fiancé returning her cold fries and distasteful drink. We ended up spending $96 on a lackluster meal of cold burgers and less-than-acceptable drinks—definitely not what I expected from a resort that is supposed to be of luxury caliber. At 6 PM, we received a golf cart to take us to our room on the higher floor. Yet again, I was met with disappointment; the room had a water smell and appeared a bit worn. I was extremely exhausted and had just fallen asleep after my shower when my fiancé woke me up, visibly upset, with a text notification stating that we would not be receiving the upgrade as promised. Strike 3—Time to Go! We quickly put on our shoes and made our way to the front desk, but Nestor was already off for the day. We encountered Uriel, the front desk manager, and once again explained our situation and the conflicting information we received. Uriel stated that an upgrade wasn’t possible, which led us to request a refund so we could leave the next day. He then stated he needed to discuss it with his manager. After a brief conversation, to our surprise, Uriel returned with an offer of a complimentary buffet breakfast and a promise of an upgraded suite for the following day. His sincere apology was a small consolation, and we reluctantly agreed to stay. The next morning, I received yet another text saying they were uncertain when the suite would be ready. I opted to go to breakfast alone since my fiancé was understandably frustrated. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the previous meal. At that point, I had made my decision—we were leaving! I communicated my desire for a refund for the remaining days to the front desk, and they agreed without much resistance. We had planned a boat ride, so we went ahead with that. After returning, I finally received a message at 3:20 PM stating that our upgraded suite was ready. Our bags were already packed and car waiting for us to depart. In hindsight, the best decision I made was to leave the Solaz Resort. We relocated to a different resort where our experience completely changed; the service was impeccable, and the quality of the food was outstanding. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Solaz Resort Los Cabos. Save yourself the stress and disappointment, and don’t risk ruining a vacation or special occasion due to subpar service and food. I’m now back home in Washington, DC, and felt compelled to share this lengthy review as a warning to others. Our initial trip was for five (5) days and we left after one (1). Please note, I have yet to receive my refund for the remaining four (4) days I did not stay.

"4th Trip and It Is as Good as the First!"

This was our 4th trip to the Solaz. We have been going since 2019 and the hotel is just as good as when it opened in 2019. In fact, the food, staff, and overall experience are better than 6 years ago. A big shout out to Octavio who has continued to enhance our experience from the very beginning!!!! We have stayed at multiple properties in Cabo and Solaz is by far, the best. The accommodations are top notch, the service is as good as a Four Seasons and the propertie's layout is far better than competing resorts. We will certainly return for our 5 visit!

"BEAM Photography experience at the Solaz"

My family and I had the absolute BEST experience with BEAM photography at the Solaz hotel. We wanted to take family photos during our recent vacation, and they made the experience easy and fun. The photographer even helped my 3 year old daughter smile and engage in the photo shoot which was truly a surprise! I cannot recommend them enough, loved the final photos and will remember this experience for the rest of our lives.

Ricardo at the pool is a great service, Mako pool is the best experience, thanks to Roberto is a manager, we spent a really good time, really special drinks and the best food

"sunset photo shoot with Gerson at Solaz in Cabo"

We went to Solaz for a family vacation and booked a sunset photo shoot with Gerson. He was very kind and made us all feel very comfortable. He walked us around the property and took amazing photos and then the photoshoot ended with photos on the beach. Two days later, we met with him on property at his office to look at the video and photos he took at which point we chose the package we wanted to buy, prices are very reasonable, you can even purchase individual photos if that is what you want. Also the photoshoot is complimentary just be sure to arrange it when you arrive at the Solaz. Thanks Gerson and your team at BEAM photography for your great work. We love our family photos and the video you captured of the photoshoot! Thank you!

"Solaz A True Luxury Resort"

Let’s just say this was my second time visiting Solaz within a calendar year. The first time was for my girl friend’s birthday, and we fell in love with it so much we had to come back and bring our friends! The level of service is 5 Star from check in to our butler Diego who took care of all of us.

"Fabulous Trip"

This is our third time staying at Solaz Residences. The resort and facilities are first class. Right on the beach and our server Rigoberto was fabulous, serving us margaritas and going above and beyond. We will be back! We stayed at Tower 1 of the Residences, which were private, peaceful.

"20th wedding anniversary"

Solaz was over the top luxury! The service was fantastic and everyone was so friendly! Our room was amazing!!! The food ( sushi restaurant) was amazing and definitely recommend the mochi for dessert! Pools/beaches beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful anniversary memory!
