The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai

The view is beautiful. The grilled lubina absolutely delicious and the exceptional world class service from Ricardo made it a very memorable night

The staff were very rude; our personal belongings were left unattended by the housekeeping staff, and the hotel did not provide us with a satisfactory explanation. And Our room wasn't cleaned properly because our dog accidentally ate a pink substance inside, but we don't know what it is!

Spent four days at the Edition at Kanai. Highly recommend renting the pier and beach cabanas. Great way to enjoy the beach. The staff were awesome. Paco and Ramon dodged wind and rain to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent time at Edition. The best part by far was the service at the Cabanas. Paco and Ramon were exceptional - they were extra friendly and attentive, and were clearly working very hard. We appreciated their efforts!

Had a lovely Thanksgiving getaway with friends at Edition and couldn’t have been more well cared for! All the staff were warm and welcoming, but Paco and Ramon really made our trip. They took care of us so well on the beach! Would return just to hang with them again!

The ambience is great, quiet and relaxing which was exactly what we were looking for. Rooms are modern and nicely decorated and the pool is beautiful. But the highlight was the service and the food at the different restaurants. While Kiis was underwhelming, Kitchen and Sool were exceptional and so was the service from all the team there.

Gorgeous Property, But Completely Undone by Sloppy Service I’m currently staying at The Riviera Maya Edition in room 2009, and while the setting is stunning and the staff are warm and well-intentioned, the experience has been marred by a consistent lack of follow-through and attention to detail. Let me be clear: none of the issues on their own are catastrophic. But the cumulative effect is frustrating, especially for a property charging over $1,100 USD per night. We tried to book dinner at Chaya more than two weeks in advance. I had to follow up five times via email and twice by phone from New York to finally get a reservation—only to receive a 5:30 PM slot instead of the 7:00 PM I originally requested. It took my persistence to get even that. I’m happy to forward the emails to anyone who’s curious. Next: the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working. Nor was the mini fridge. I reported both via the Edition app, was told it was “handled,” but nothing happened until I escalated and demanded to speak to a manager. Then came the hair dryer. Broken. Again, a small thing. But you start to see the pattern. This morning, I asked the concierge to move our too-early 5:30 PM dinner to 6:30 PM. No answer. Guest services said they’d call me back. They didn’t. I had to follow up again, only to be told that it couldn’t be changed and that we only had a 5:30 PM reservation because the hotel didn’t secure the time I asked for two weeks ago. I work in luxury branding and public relations. My travel partner is former Condé Nast. We would never recommend this Edition to friends, clients, or editorial colleagues. This is not a hit piece, this is the most measured version of my feedback. A shame, really. Beautiful bones. Beautiful people. But a give me a break get it together and have a team meeting already.

Marco was amazing! He helped us at the beach and pool and was so nice and friendly. He saved us from the rain when it started to pour and offered us all new food when ours got wet. Ask for Marco!!
