The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai

Went to the beach bar SO’OL at the EDITION Kanai for my boyfriend’s birthday lunch and Miguel and Rafael made it very special. We had clams, stone crab, and abalone - all were delicious and fresh. They found out it was his birthday and brought out a surprise dessert - so lovely.

This review is coming from a super stressed out New Yorker. From the second I entered the hotel all staff especially “V” created an environment where my blood pressure dropped to normal levels immediately for the first time. Was a wonderful and therapeutic delight for all the senses. I want to come back every week.

It’s an elegant, rather remote hotel built right inside of a tropical rainforest. There are plants and flowers decorating the floors, walls and ceilings. The beautiful water features surrounding the walkways give this place a magical touch. We absolutely loved it! The service is exceptional. The rooms are pristine, beautifully decorated and comfortable. All of the food there is amazing. We ate at every restaurant, including room service, beachside and poolside service. The dinner/lunch, breakfast and kids menus are different for each location which increases variety when you are staying several days. There is only 1 pool for families but it is huge! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return very soon!

The Riviera Maya EDITION is an absolutely stunning hotel, offering a tranquil and relaxing environment, perfect for downtime. The property is beautifully designed, with a strong connection to nature that makes it a serene escape. The Superior Suite with ocean views was spacious and lovely, providing a perfect setting to celebrate my partner’s birthday. However, the hotel is a bit out of the way, and transportation can be challenging. Uber isn’t an option, and taxis are quite overpriced, which limits your mobility a bit during your stay. Dining at So’ol was a highlight—exceptional food with a delightful fusion of local and traditional flavors. The servers, Henry and Brian, were outstanding—gracious, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The beachfront setting, with the soothing sound of waves and ocean breeze, truly elevated the ambiance. Ki’is was another fantastic experience, with Isaac providing great service and the food being incredibly flavorful. We also dined at Toro at the nearby St. Regis Hotel, where the cuisine and staff were top-notch. The staff at the EDITION was exceptional—Isabel made sure we had everything we needed, Alex at the front desk was always warm and helpful, and Paco and Jonathon by the pool was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything for a memorable birthday celebration. Overall, I would highly recommend the Riviera Maya EDITION for anyone seeking a peaceful, beachside retreat where relaxation

Absolutely loved our stay at The Edition Riviera Maya. The food was genuinely incredible—every meal felt like a highlight. Service was top-notch across the board, with Miguel, Jonathan, and the rest of the team going above and beyond the entire time. The customer service was truly unmatched, and everything at the hotel just worked seamlessly. Can’t wait to come back.

A beautiful property that feels secluded but is still easily accessible. Our suite was stunning and service was very attentive. Two pools, one adults only and (thankfully) enforced by staff who politely but firmly shifted the kids to the other pool. Food was very solid, if a little unimaginative but breakfast from 7-noon, poolside service 11-5 and 24 hour room service - and excellent bartenders and waitstaff. Absolutely recommend.

This is the most amazing hidden gem resort! A true sanctuary. The staff are absolutely amazing so friendly and professional. We especially enjoyed our lunch and afternoon at the beach pool with Raphael. He was superb. I look forward to seeing him and the rest of the wonderful staff all week!

So’ol is an amazing part of Edition The beach club is fabulous with an amazing team during the day served by Brian, Raphael,Marco and Salamon The location is fabulous, music, food and service exceptional They make you feel chilled and relaxed irrelevant if you are on your own or in a group So’ol is amazing because of the team and of course the view. Just returned from a wonderful week long stay at Edition at Kanai! The employees from the minute we arrived were all warm and welcoming. Marco at So’ol and ‘Magic Mike’ at KI’IS in particular provided memorable five star service. The hotel, rooms, spa, pool and beach are gorgeous and well maintained. There was plenty of spaces to relax which we did a ton of as well as yoga, paddle boarding, pickle ball and even a mixology session with Magic Mike. We also enjoyed the gym and spa which like the entire property was perfection. We tried all of the bars and restaurants and were completely satisfied on all occasions. We definitely hope to visit this very special place again.

Such an amazing location. The food was very good - grilled oysters and lobster roll are decadent Appreciate Rafael and Izzy for taking such good care of us!!
