La Puesta

Beautiful pool, restaurant and grounds. Rooms are on the smaller side but nicely decorated and clean. Staff is all wonderful.

We were in Sayulita for a wedding and stayed at La Puesta. The hotel is beautiful; I believe all rooms face the ocean. It was so lovely to open the sliding door at night and listen to the sound of the waves. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. They rent golf carts to use to go into downtown Sayulita, and that was super fun. There are several restaurants and bars within walking distance also. The room was lovely, with a well equipped mini bar and coffee machine. I had a massage at the spa, and really enjoyed it. The temp of the water in the pool was just perfect, and there's a swim-up bar. There's also a water slide into the pool. The reservation process and communication with staff when booking and afterward was excellent. I would highly recommend La Puesta!

Pool overlooking ocean was perfect. Staff is incredibly friendly. They are magically attentive and thoughtful without over-selling & being pushing about ordering drinks etc. Incredible food! Rooms are very comfortable.

I do not often leave reviews. But STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT! I got, and currently have, a SEVERE BACTERIA INFECTION from unsanitized pedicure tools in their spa THIS week. I am on antibiotics and it hurts SO BAD! I booked one night with my mom on my birthday in order to have a full spa day, and man does the spa have a lot of problems! While the spa ladies were contracted from a company called Nirvana, the problem was not with them, but the facility the resort provided. We got a full body treatment and then I got a pedicure, and there were issues all around. First, we check in and the front desk says that the spa ladies aren’t there yet and to wait in the lobby so they will come get us when they’re ready. 45 minutes pass and I went to check in and they completely forgot about us, and the spa girls were waiting for 30 minutes. Then, they didn’t have proper towels (they covered my eyes with a tissue) and the door to my massage room was left wide open for half the massage while I was not wearing any clothes and my chest was exposed. But the real problem is that the pedicure tools were not properly sanitized and were just sitting in a drawer. No sanitizer in sight! AND THEN, they tried charging us for a more expensive massage that we didn’t get ! (250 usd each versus 108 each) And it took getting the manager to change the prices back. The next morning when I woke up in so much pain with my feet BRIGHT RED leaking puss, we confronted the front desk about this. The manager said this has never happened before, and called the spa they contracted. While Nirvana was kind enough to refund the spa services, the hotel was not so gracious. We paid the higher rate for the day pass in order to spend the following day at the pool, and due to my infection I could no longer get in a pool or WALK without extreme pain. The hotel itself was not willing to refund those passes, or our room, and just shrugged their shoulders. They offered to called a doctor but refused to pay for it. (I am American without health insurance in Mexico) all in all, the resort refused to take any accountability or address their UNSANITARY SPA and how it prevented me from enjoying the rest of my birthday trip in Sayulita. For $500 a night I expected way better. also, my bedding and towels had brown stains on them. If you’re going to Sayulita, save yourself serious trouble by PICKING SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

All was great except the power washer

Very quiet location in the North part of town, albeit with a bit of construction noise due to developments nearby. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices for food and beverage are a bit high but quality was good. Room was lovely, as was the view.

It’s right on the beach and all rooms are nicely designed, spacious and face the beach. The infinite style pools is also great as is the pool-side service. Did not like that I had pesos cash but front desk refused to show me the peso total even though the restaurant menu is in pesos and I was billed at the table in pesos. They only showed me the converted US $ amount. When I insisted on paying in pesos cash, the front desk used their phone calculator to convert back into pesos. That’s ridiculous. Why would I pay to convert from pesos to US and then back to pesos. That’s terrible service.
