UMi Tulum

I had an extremely disappointing stay at Umi Hotel. I paid around $700 per night for a total of $3,478 for 5 nights, but the experience was far from worth it. The private swimming pool and the public swimming pool were tiny, the room was unbearably hot with a weak and leaking air conditioner, and the door to the private pool didn't close properly, letting in bugs, mosquitoes, and hot, humid air. There was no trash can or slippers in the room, and the window leaked during rain. The cleaning was terrible due to the water leakage from the AC, and the cleaning staff couldn't do anything about it. The overall cleanliness was poor, especially at the pool where pillows and mattresses were left on the ground, covered in dust and bugs. In Tulum, there is no signal, making Wi-Fi essential, but the hotel's Wi-Fi was extremely poor. Despite all these issues, the hotel staff did nothing to resolve them or offer any compensation. I had to book another hotel, Nomade Hotel, for 3 nights to escape from Umi Hotel, costing me an additional $1,222 per 3 nights. Nomade Hotel had a bigger pool, better AC, a larger property with 4 restaurants, and superior Wi-Fi. Neither Umi Hotel nor Booking.com has refunded me or even responded to my complaints. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

We went with a group of friends to celebrate my Birthday in May. I took a chance since it was just opened months before but so glad I did. The Hotel is located perfectly if you want be able walk to the best restaurants without being in the loud party area. Our rooms were specular with ocean views so convenient to the beach. The top floor unit is amazing to have your friends over for cocktails before dinner. They had a dj the day we checked in and a roof top party during our stay. Staff was very accommodating and did a great job keeping us hydrated, full and happy;) The breakfast that is included was exceptional and we ordered the Ceviche every day for lunch. The only thing I would suggest is adding more seating and umbrellas at the beach. Other than that 10/10 stay!

Was small and not over populated

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I chose this property for the boho luxury aesthetic. I am happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. Specifically, Jorge, Andrea and Jaime. They were in constant communication with me regarding all my needs. They made my restaurant reservations and even arranged our excursion activities. The location of the property is just right. It’s walking distance from all the popular restaurant and day clubs but not too close where you will be disturbed by the partying. We stayed in a ground level room and they were able to fulfill my request and room us in the one I specifically wanted. I had an issue with privacy in the bathroom and they immediately rectified the situation. The rooms are exactly as pictured. The restaurant staff constantly checked if we needed any beverages or food. The seaweed was cleaned off the beach every morning. It’s an adults only resort which is a huge plus. In addition, pets are allowed which makes my heart happy. The menu may seem limited but they are items they can make that are not listed. They have a Dj that plays on the weekends from 3-6pm, it’s progressive/chill house music. I felt safe thanks to the staff and the property itself is tucked away in a little jungle which reduces foot traffic. I had such an amazing, fun, and relaxing time at Umi Tulum. I look forward to visiting again!

My stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the convenience and personalized service provided by the staff. The hotel's direct access to the beach made my vacation incredibly convenient, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful shoreline with ease. The rooms exceeded my expectations, offering ample space and tasteful furnishings. I appreciated the attention to detail in the room design, which created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere throughout my stay. Additionally, the breakfast provided by the hotel was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from each morning. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a convenient and personalized getaway. Despite the minor drawbacks, the exceptional service, spacious rooms, and beach access make it a fantastic choice for a memorable vacation experience.

This hotel has only been opened 3 months and is still under construction so expect to see and hear construction throughout your stay. The hotel itself is somewhat difficult to locate as there’s no official sign outside its entrance. Parking is across the street— and while free, it’s very smelly and bug-infested as the trash compactors are store there as well. The hotel does not use telephones in the rooms, so be prepared to download Whatsapp to communicate with staff. The room itself has a very minimalistic vibe which I appreciate, but there’s already some very visible wear and tear. An electrical unit had exposed wiring. There’s an armoire, but zero hangers so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. The bathroom has very little counter space. The room has a mini-fridge with zero alcohol stocked in it. The Nespresso machine was never restocked either. During our stay, the beach club hosted a private party which was allowed to continue until 6AM. So if you’re looking to get sleep this is not the place to book. In addition, the beach club host daily events. All seating is marked as “reserved” during these events, so don’t expect to find any seating at the club or on the beach. Preferential treatment is not given to hotel guests unfortunately. The lounge chairs on the beach don’t have umbrellas which is rather inconvenient. This hotel does allow pets. The food was good. The watermelon salad and the ceviche were quite savory. As were the mezcalitas. Overall, not worth it

Amazing 6 room boutique hotel located beach front, rooms are big and has a rooftop pool with a great view of the ocean
