Hyatt Place Newark-Main Street

No complaints. Everything was great. Loved the staff. Enjoyed being in a college town. Dog friendly!

Great stay! Hotel is in a perfect location to visit the University of Delaware and the amenities were very good. Parking was easy and reasonable and breakfast was great.

After moving away from Newark in 2000 we were looking forward to staying in this new facility on Main Street. Great location. Great rooms, comfortable beds. My main gripe starts with the poster in the elevator with a title including "creatively curated food" for breakfast. And they featured a picture of a bowl of oatmeal with a raspberry on top. Not my idea of creative or curated. More like "we serve the same breakfast as everyone else in our class." For those of you who can remember this hotel line opening, they used to have very creative breakfast sandwiches and eggs, which changed every day. Enter the progression to the typical simple/cheap buffet that other hotels offer. Don't get you hopes up, and prepare to head out for a better meal if you think breakfast should be more than a typical Holiday Inn provides. The service was very good, but the front desk was understaffed. I wanted my parking ticket validated and waited over 10 minutes as the sole person at the desk was doing a wonderful job servicing someone on the phone. No one else saw this and showed up to assist. This is not the Hyatt experience I'm used to. I consider this a bad reflection on the hotel management. The bar is very large and very cold. It was in the mid-80's outside, I didn't see the need to drink in a 63 degree(?) room, so I went down the block to Taverna, which is a great find. I don't think I'll stay here again. The Marriott Courtyard on North Campus is very nice, but you need to walk a good 4 blocks to Main Street. No free breakfast, but there a good spot nearby that is much better then what Hyatt Place offers.

Nice clean quiet well managed property with friendly staff

The location is perfect. It’s a walking distance to UD and it’s in the middle of town with all the restaurants which are of many varieties. The room is also nicely designed and clean. Would recommend.

It was a great stay for family and a couple. Right near a variety of food drinks entertainment. I did not want to leave
