Love Hotels Kadoka by OYO at Badlands SD

I had some car trouble in the National park and found this hotel and just kind of showed up. The owner was SO kind and made sure I was comfortable in the air conditioning until my room was ready. Everything was very clean and had everything I needed! Tv, air conditioning, fridge and a microwave!! He made sure I had everything I needed and made sure I knew I could contact him. It was absolutely perfect to get me refreshed and back on the road!

Great location. They are going through some ownership changes and there was a lot of construction going on. Hopefully as things get finished up, this place will be in better shape.

The construction made it pretty loud and dirty at the moment, but hopefully that's just temporary.

What I can I say? You get what you pay for. If you're just looking for a cheap place to sleep and take a shower among a tourist area of overly priced hotels, then this is a good option. It's close to the Badlands right off the highway and near gas stations. I'm not sure the real name of this place, because when we showed up, it had a different name on a banner and at the front desk. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and not too soft. Shower water pressure was great and water was hot. They have a mini fridge in the room. Free breakfast includes bagels and cream cheese, and breakfast snack bars. The owner was friendly and I could tell he's trying his best to make the place better. And now the bad....the sheets were dirty. There were orange and red stains and pee stains on one of our bed sheets. It was absolutely gross so we only slept on one of the beds. The sink was leaking from the bottom. And lastly, there were so many flies!!!! We killed almost 15 of them when we first arrived and there were still some flying around while we slept.

The manager was extremely helpful. When I went to check in, he did not have my reservation in his computer. However, when he checked my booking site, my reservation was there. Even though he technically did not have a room available, he was able to give me a room for the night. The next morning, he moved me into a different room when I said the tv didn'work, and helped me move my belongings into the new room.

The door was locked up and no staff on site. Dead bugs on the windows and window blinds from outside view looking in. Barricaded doors on the outside and no evidence of human life around the building. Lights on the building appeared to be for security reasons not for access since doors were locked. The place is not legitimate, apparently out of business or fraudulent. What is Expedia doing regarding this scam?

It was clean and reasonably priced. Sink had a leak leaving the bathroom floor wet. We had a garbage bag placed over broken blinds! Needs a lot of work.

Aaron and tesha were the smiling faces I will remember forever. Clean comfortable and nice and quiet.

Places to get something to eat were a little harder to find.

We checked out before we were even checked in Flys and grasshoppers all over the main door, had to call to be let in the lobby. After waiting in 104deg temp for 5 min let in lobby that stunk smelled like something dead in there Management will not refund our money AVOID AT ALL COST THIS PLACE SUCKS

They canceled my reservation last minute. After I drove for twelve hours. The last hour before I reached the hotel, I got a call they said they are overbooked and they will cancel my reservation. They mentioned they called several times and left a message which they did not . Do not even consider booking in this hotel. They might cancel your reservation just like what happened to me.

Hotels.com let me book a non-refundable stay at this remote hotel, but when I arrived, I found it was closed (and had been for some time) for renovations. The phone number on the door went right to voicemail. With few options in the area, I was left scrambling on my own to find other accommodations. Hotels.com did make it right after the fact, but it shouldn't have been possible to make the reservation in the first place.
