Hyatt Place Albany Downtown

Loved the spacious room with 2 queen beds plus an L-shaped couch with C-table for easy eating/working. Super-plush towels. Huge TV if you like that. Fantastic breakfast & pleasant eating area. Well-appointed lobby.

Access is odd—only an elevator at street level. Lobby is on 2nd floor; direct access is from a sidewalk ramp that wraps around building. Note that parking is all paid and open-air. (Not sure any downtown hotels have free parking but some have access to garages.) Also hotel is in a dead-end area that I’m sure is perfectly safe but felt kind of abandoned over Christmas.

This is a nice place. I’ve been here several times before. You’ll need to pay for parking more than likely unless you use points. I used points and they allowed me to park in 15 minute parking right out in front. You need a hotel key to work the elevator. Everybody was very nice. Everything was in good working order. The breakfast was decent and it looked beautiful. They didn’t have any cut fresh fruit to go with the yogurt, no English muffins and no donut holes. Unfortunately, all of those are things that I like to have, but it was still a very good breakfast and really nicely presented. The only thing that could be better would be the floors in the room and they felt a little grimy barefooted so I wore my socks. My socks didn’t get very dirty so I think they’re cleaning it but it’s just not getting really clean. Also, the housekeepers ignored my do not disturb sign and knocked on my door. It’s partly my fault. I usually put a late checkout sign on my door so the housekeepers know because a lot of time there is breakdown in communication about that issue, but still, if they saw that sign maybe they should’ve checked about a late checkout

We were on travel to Vermont and stopped for the night. Very nice room. Breakfast was exceptional. Very friendly staff. Had several drinks at the bar and the bartender was helpful.

Best complimentary hotel breakfast ever. Very attentive and cordial staff.

We stayed here Wednesday night. It was absolutely great from beginning to end, really helpful staff. Lots of nice amenities, a nice clean room. Good location couldn't ask for anything more.
