Pilot Cove Forest Lodging

Very clean, felt very private with the cabin design. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and a very clean think comfortable place.

Thought the beds could be a little come more comfortable. And I thought the price was just a teeny bit too high.

Location and view were great! We were very happy with the bike storage area. We loved our stay there.

Would have liked additional indoor seating. We were in the efficiency and there was only one comfortable chair. A better night stand and more coffee mugs would be nice

Pilot Cove's location was very convenient for our planned activities (in Brevard and in Pisgah National Forest). Our 1 bedroom cabin had a complete kitchen, a separate bedroom and a sofa bed (for our grandson). The cabin also contained a washer/dryer which was very convenient and useful. We also enjoyed the expansive deck that looked out over the forest (although the mosquitoes were annoying at times) - it was very relaxing just sitting on the deck and enjoying the wonderful weather that we had. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay!

There is a disparity between Booking.com and Pilot Cove regarding arrival time. Booking.com advertises an arrival time of 3:00 pm while Pilot Cove stipulates the arrival time as 3:30 pm. We called Pilot Cove to request an early arrival time of 2:30 pm - which they would not accommodate. This was our one disappointment with Pilot Cove; given the cost of our 2 night stay, we feel they should have been more willing to accommodate a 30 minute early arrival. Irregardless, they should correct the discrepancy on arrival time.

We have stayed at Pilot Cove a few times and always enjoyed it. Clean and quiet and near Pisgah state forest with hiking and waterfalls. Brevard is a cute little city with shops and restaurants.

Pilot Cove has been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable, modern cabin experience in the forest. The cabins line a rather steep hill that is just above a main road. Despite this, it is incredibly quiet and especially with the trees in full foliage you really do feel like you are in the forest. The cabins are situated so that guests have privacy and the spacious decks offer pleasant tree views (probably the higher the better) . Some have steps so remember to contact the property if you have mobility issues. We appreciated our step free request being accommodated. Our pet friendly, one bedroom (96) was lovely. There’s a “mud room” type entrance which would be useful for muddy hiking days and a large living room/kitchen. The bedroom is a good size with a large picture window with a view of the trees. While we did not use the kitchen amenities, it was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans etc. As this was a pet friendly cabin, a dog waste station was conveniently located at the roadside near the driveway - management have made it easy to responsibly pick up after our pets. The location can’t be beat - literally at the doorstep of the Pisgah National Forest. Perfect for hiking etc. The owners obviously care very much about their property and were responsive to questions about our stay. You really can’t go wrong booking your stay at Pilot Cove.

Our cabin at Pilot Cove was in the perfect location for hikes in the national forest, dinner in downtown Brevard, and a day trip to Asheville. It was a good size for our family of four. It was clean and accommodating. The only minor suggestions are to fix some of the cosmetic details (random paint roller and brush marks) and figure out a way to keep water off the floor in the shower room. Neither of these inconvenienced us in any way but the water could become a bigger issue down the road.

Great getaway spot, it was secluded and quiet enough to make you think no one else is anywhere near, but only minutes from downtown Brevard. The deck looked out over the blooming mountain laurel, and was a private breezy spot for morning coffee and evening drinks. I was surprised to see a full sized washer and dryer, the bathroom and shower area as well as the mud room entrance are concrete so you don’t have to worry about tracking anything in to the living or sleeping area. Couch and bed were very comfy. The hammock was also a fun touch. Wish we could have stayed longer and had time to do some hiking and exploring on the property.
