Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa

Renaissance Honolulu Hotel and Spa is by far the best hotel experience my family and I have ever had. Not only is it beautifully designed, it's also furnished with quality furnitures and appliances (I stayed on the Residence floor 2 weeks ago). The amenities are top notch. The staff were extremely helpful. I specifically want to commend Raul and Jeff who were both very helpful and tended to our request on our way to our room. They greeted us with a warm welcome and encouraged us to reach out to their team in case we needed anything.

Beautiful hotel in a good location next to Ala Moana center. We preferred this location to Waikiki as it was a bit more quiet and relaxing. Still close enough to beaches on foot or use the local bus to Waikiki (very efficient way to get around.) Hotel room was comfortable overall, bed & pillows were excellent. Housekeeping daily with some differences in comprehensive cleaning, some days better than others, but no real issues here. Had to request some supplies that had been missed a couple of times. Front desk staff friendly and accommodated our early arrival with a room upgrade (we are elite bonvoy members.) One reason we booked the Renaissance was access to laundry machines, however only one of 2 machines were operational with several guests wanting access, so it took quite a while to get the laundry done. Mara restaurant was good for happy hour drinks with apps. 8th floor pool area very nice with plenty of seating and pool side bar. Nearby Walmart & Target is a benefit for supplies and last minute Hawaiian gifts/chocolate to take home (much better pricing than ABC or gift shops!) As other guests have mentioned, there is homeless that occupy some of the area including the front of walmart, but no issues at all. Would recommend a stay here.

Our stay was pretty good. There were two problems. One was that I had called to ask about a shuttle service from the airport. They told me they had one. They do have a shuttle service but not to or from the airport and they charge for the shuttle service every day whether you use it or not. The second issue is hidden charges. This hotel has a lot of hidden charges.

Originally we had a difficult time to communicate with the front desk, but then we met Trevor. Trevor relieved and resolved the communication issues. We can comfortably say that this was a very nice hotel and would book again. Hotel was walking distance to Ala Moana Center. Shuttle provided, but there were other stores along the way.

Great place to stay, close to shopping, beach..

Absolutely loved our stay. Service and response time with staff could have been a little bit better but overall amazing hotel, clean, convenient and we were very comfortable!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience so that others can make a more informed decision. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short of my expectations in nearly every way—from customer service and breakfast to unexpected fees. Nothing about the experience reflected the standards of a 4- or 5-star hotel. First, the in-room phone didn’t work properly. When I tried to call the restaurant to order room service, the call wouldn’t go through. I contacted the front desk for assistance, and instead of helping, they told me they were too busy and that I should go down to the restaurant myself to place the order. What’s worse, during that same phone call, they told me I only had five minutes left before the restaurant stopped taking orders. Is this really the level of service expected at a hotel of this rating? Also, please double-check your receipts. I was charged double for a room service order and only caught the mistake during checkout. It had to be manually corrected. The bathroom sink drained extremely slowly, and I had to turn the water on lightly and wait for it to go down every time I used it. Housekeeping was also unreliable—there were multiple times I returned in the evening to find that my room hadn’t been cleaned at all, even though I had been out all day.

The hotel was nice but noone ever answered the phone ever and the room they assigned me had a huge coffee stain on the rug and it was extremely expensive but on the plus side it was on of the most modern places on the island

Our stay was phenomenal and staff is friendly. Just a heads up that valet is the only thing they offer and it’s $59 tax a day. I will say it is worth the money but be sure to clear it how the charges will be made upon check in.
