Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa

Great location near Alo Moana mall. Right across the street from the mall so basically a five minute walk. Right across street from Walmart and Target. Good locale for shopping and about ten minutes from Waikiki by car. Booked a partial ocean view suite on a great rate and this is a corner suite that overlooks Walmart. Bedroom only contacts your bathroom and living room so very quiet. Did not hear upstairs guest at all and not much hall way noise when sleeping. Room clean and modern though missing some amenities. There was no pen or note pads in the room and nor were they put in the room despite seeing some on the housekeeping cart. Also, housekeeping a bit inconsistent. Had to keep calling down to get things that should have been done during daily room clean. One day they did not clean until after a second call around 5:00 Do they give robes and slippers. Shuttle to Waikiki and nearby sand beach goes every 2 hours so plan your day accordingly if you want to catch the shuttle. Uber will cost about 10-15 depending where you are in Waikiki. Ate at Mara once and Mara bar 2 times as you get a 48.00 dollar credit daily you can use on dining. Mara for dinner was ok with Spanish tapas. Not sure what the cook was doing but they overcooked our fish and then slightly again on the reorder. Only good was they did not charge for the fish entree. Pricey and as mentioned cheaper options at the mall. Had drinks and snacks there in bar and drinks are ok but nothing special. Suggest eating at Alo Moana mall for better selection and price. Pool area is small and in between two buildings. Did not use as area looked small and more in keeping with a small condo pool and vibe. For price point I would recommend as close to mall but understand this is not a 5 star luxury hotel. Just clean and quiet with good location to Alo Moana mall. Would suggest if looking for no frills but good hotel.

I come to Hawai‘i on business travel a lot for the past 15 years and I finally found my go to hotel when traveling to Honolulu. The property is brand new so it is very nice, but it is also very well kept. The rooms are of very good size for Honolulu. And everything seems to be high end. The cherry on the top is the staff. They are tentative, friendly and knowledgeable. When I tell local that I’m staying there, they all have heard of the restaurant and have either ate there or plan to eat there soon, so it is very well respected. The location is a tad different from some of the ones that you seen on TV but not far, just take a look at the map and make sure it meets your needs.

I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for 3 nights and 4 days. While the hotel is new and very clean, the space felt quite small, including the lobby, and there was only one dining option available. The Lamill Coffee shop only offered to-go options, which was a bit inconvenient. The surrounding area near the convention center didn’t feel very safe for walking, with a couple of questionable bars nearby. We ended up taking an Uber every day to Waikiki (about a 10-minute drive) to enjoy our time there. The pool was also disappointing—very small and crowded. It seemed to be shared with an adjacent residential building, and there were way too many kids running around and making noise. We went to the 8th floor (where the pool is) once and never went back. The front desk calls it the “Magic Floor,” but it felt far from magical. I don’t think I would stay here again. Despite the quieter location, I learned a valuable lesson: in Hawaii, nothing beats staying at a hotel right by the ocean, even if it’s crowded. Next time, I’ll definitely opt for a beachfront hotel in Waikiki instead.

Beautiful property! Definitely a luxury experience. They are still working out some kinks with In Room Dining and also be aware that the Parking Resort fee will run you around $100/ day. They will give you an F&B credit so thats pretty awesome!!

The daily "destination fee." I thought it was a "one-time" fee. No, it was charged daily, and if you didn't spend it, you lost it.

I enjoyed the pool area and the cleanliness of the hotel. I also loved Mara Mediterranean restaurant! Great food an and friendly staff.

Things i like about this hotel is room is big and clean and newly built and view from the room was good and really enjoyed the fireworks view from the hotel which was the hallmark. The second best thing is the fitness center huge and valet service was good and quick. What turned me off was house keeping and maintenance which needs lot of improvement, they don't have a set time they come either very early in the morning or very late in the evening and forgot to refill the coffee bar, towels were reduced from 4 -> 3 -> 2 during our duration of stay total mess , cafe and laundry must be improved as well , laundry has only 2 units for such a large hotel. Location of hotel is nt a desirable location for walking. I have given a generous 4 starts for this hotel. In comparison Waikiki beachcomber a 3 star hotel was sensational in all aspects of things a truly 5 start experience there.
