Cosy Apartment above Village Pub

It was very spacious and nicely decorated. Good kitchen facilities. Beautiful location near both Buxton and Bakewell. The food in the pub downstairs was amazing.

There needed to be dressing tables and mirrors in both bedrooms.

Lovely place, very spacious, would definitely return.

After a freezing day in the Peaks we drove into Taddington. Another stone house village of many we passed through. We were hugely surprised with the apartment above the pub. It was newly renovated, huge, very quiet (because of the thick walls) and had a great kitchen and the best shower of our trip around the UK. Highly recommended!!! The pub was quaint and had fabulous meals.

fabulous 2 bed apartment above the pub. lovely village location. huge lounge , fully equipped kitchen. good size bathroom with walk in shower. 2 good sized bedrooms. we stayed here for 3 days whilst we visited Chatsworth House. excellent location for visiting the local are. pub food is amazing with a wide range of food and drinks. friendly staff. they even decorated the apaefor xmas. very dog friendly too! can't wait to go back.

Absolutely amazing apartment. Clean, spacious, like being home from home, couldn't fault it at all. Great location for walks in the Peak District, just a shame the weather wasn't on our side. We ate in the pub both nights, food was lovely, staff and locals really friendly, Wilson enjoyed all the fuss he was getting. We will definitely be going back but maybe during the summer months next time.

The apartment was great. The beds were cosy and the facilities were good. The apartment seemed to be newly refurbished. We had dinner in the pub downstairs one night and the food was good. Extras like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid was all provided. There was even a little Christmas tree set up when we arrived. The heating was good and the apartment felt cosy.

There was what looked to be leftover food in the fridge and freezer from precious guests. The music from the pub below was really loud and on until around 11:30pm/midnight. We were prewarned about noise from the pub and I wouldn't recommend if you are a light sleeper or someone who struggles to sleep.

An amazing little flat above a pub. Nicely done out and comfortable. Hosts were welcoming and friendly.

The bed was a little too soft for our liking, but that's deeply personal opinionated and I'm scraping the barrel here.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. It’s beautifully redone, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you might need – truly a comfortable and welcoming space. The pub below is a real highlight, with brilliant food and drink, a cosy atmosphere, and genuinely lovely staff who made us feel right at home. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the Peak District, including Chatsworth, Bakewell, and other key attractions. It’s also excellent value for money given its proximity to these sites.

we were disappointed with the level of noise late into the evening. While we knew the flat was above a pub and expected some noise, it was much louder than anticipated, especially on Saturday when the pub stays open until 1am. The sound of chatter and activity carries very clearly into the flat, making it difficult to sleep even if you’ve turned in early. We feel more soundproofing measures should be considered and the pub could ask guests to be mindful when outside smoking as it is right under the bedroom window. This was frustrating on both nights of our stay. Overall, a lovely property in many ways, but something to bear in mind if you’re planning a weekend visit.
