Cosy Apartment above Village Pub

Spacious apartment ideally located between Buxton and Bakewell. Great value for money, clean, freshly decorated, with comfy mattresses, and a good size bathroom. Food in the pub downstairs was delicious. Close to walks and attractions and would recommend hiring bikes from Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire to cycle the Monsal Trail.

Small cloakroom sized sink in the bathroom despite lots of space and no bedside lamps in the second bedroom (if I had to be picky).

Large flat with comfy beds and everything you need.

Really spacious and comfortable. Comfy bed. Close to some local attractions. Nice food in the pub downstairs.

Great location near lots of footpaths in fantastic countryside. The apartment was clean, decorated well and good facilities. It was large and airy and directly above a friendly busy pub with good food and beer. Throughly enjoyed our stay.

Nothing to dislike. Could have had a few more dishes, such as Pyrex dishes and some more wine glasses, there were only 2! Considering the apartment was for 4 people. But as we were just a couple that didn’t matter. We couldn’t get any stations on the TV which was frustrating. It looked like you could access all the popular streaming stations such as Netflix if you already had an account. We don’t so there wasn’t anything we could watch…….unless we were doing something wrong, which is very possible! It didn’t impact on our stay as we don’t watch much TV and even less when we are on holiday.

The location and apartment were great, plenty of space for us as a family of four.

We had no hot water for the two mornings we were there. Communication was slow, after the boiler had been looked at on the first day no one came round to discuss this with us to ensure it had been fixed and we were happy. We all managed a shower on the second evening but water was intermittent which was forwarded onto the owners. The following morning we had no water again, we left before check out time to make the trip home and had to rearrange our plans for the last day. This was extremely disappointing and spoilt our time as well as my partners birthday. No offer of reduction on the property or discount was offered and very little apology. The music on the Saturday evening also went on till the early hours of the morning, I appreciate we were above a pub but at that time in the morning it seemed very excessive in a small village and both the children woke up and had to be resettled.

Noise from pub below didn’t bother us too much as we were there mid week and bar closed at 11. It shuts later at 1am at the weekend so i would be a little concerned of late noise if staying there with young family.

Very cosy, definitely had the home from home feel! Was larger than expected for the price, brilliant location no matter what you had planned there’s something around for everyone! We had drinks in the pub downstairs and couldn’t fault a thing! Staff were all friendly, food looked delicious too!

The noise from downstairs could put people off however it wasn’t overly loud (it’s a local pub not a nightclub) Didn’t bother us at all and actually the Saturday evening was extremely quiet!
