Not an easy place to get to and quite basic but amazing view and we had use of the facilities and restaurant in the next resort which were great

Absolutely gorgeous mountain views! The lofted setup (bed upstairs, sofa and bathroom downstairs) made you feel like you had your own private retreat in the mountains. The hotel shuttle is 100% necessary - the road to the hotel is very, very, very uneven and difficult to navigate. Only an experienced driver in a 4WD vehicle could do it. I found it easy to arrange for dropoff/pickup over WhatsApp. It was also helpful to have the Black Lava Camp restaurant close by (3 minutes on foot).

Just something to keep in mind: it is quite isolated. While the views were gorgeous, I think it might have been a bit too secluded/remote for me as a solo traveler. Also, if you're going to hike Mt Batur, you'll have to work through their private guide. You'll be too far away from the meeting point for group tours to go with a group. Having a private guide turned out to be a good choice for me because I could go at my own pace, but it is more expensive than joining a group tour.

The location of this accommodation is a little tricky to get to but so worth it! And the staff are so helpful in assisting you get to and from the accommodation so its really no hassle. The views are spectacular! Would recommend to anyone wanting to see a different side to Bali to stay up here in the mountains. Waking up with this view was amazing.

Our experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing. After booking, I contacted the hotel admin via Booking.com to confirm the availability of their shuttle car service. As the route to the hotel is rugged, steep, and rocky, this makes it impassable for a normal car, leading to the shuttle as a must for access. The admin assured us that the shuttle operates 24/7 in Booking.com. However, upon arrival, we were shocked to know that the shuttle only operates from 8 am to 9 pm but not 24/7 as promised before. This was a major issue since we planned to check out at 5 am on March 5th to head to Sanur Harbour to go to Nusa Penida, requiring a shuttle well before 8 am. With no other option, we were forced to accept the admin’s offer of a one-way trip to the pickup point for IDR 200,000, which is an outrageous price for such a short distance, especially considering it’s a service they should have provided as promised. Worse still, the limited shuttle hours meant we had to return to the pickup point before 9 pm each day, forcing us to drastically reschedule our plans in Kintamani and Ubud, cutting our sightseeing short and adding unnecessary stress and expense. The problems didn’t end there. The heater was very inconsistent, where hot water lasted barely a minute and turned cold, making showers a rushed and uncomfortable ordeal. On top of that, the bed and mattress were far from clean. We woke up itchy and irritated, clearly a sign of poor hygiene. In overall, this hotel failed to deliver on its promises and left us frustrated and uncomfortable.
