Republic Hostel Cat Ba

Personnel was absolutely great, friendly and helpful. I loved the garden with a pool and a bar. Hostel situated in a calm and peaceful area, with a nice view. 10 mins to the city centre by a motorbike.

I did not like the rooms, unfortunately. They were not really clean, especially bathrooms. Water stayed on the floor the whole time. Beds were extremely hard and we did not have a good sleep.

I like how cosy the rooms are, they smell super nice and clean, the atmosphere is amazing and so relaxing ! The staff are really informative about the things you can do on the island like the full day boat tour and renting a bike to see the island Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Vietnam

Very friendly staff, nice food and really nice outdoor area. Helped us to rent scooters and had great recommendations on where to go on the island.

The beds were really hard.

This was definitely our best stay in Vietnam. We stayed for 5 days and absolutely loved Cat ba island and the hostel really made it such a nice stay. Thang was so helpful and kind, giving us advice on hikes and boat trips on the island. All of the staff were lovely, there were some local volunteers who were really welcoming (I'm sorry we can't remember everyone's name). We met the owner who taught us about the local spirits and foods including moon cake and egg cream for breakfast - a great night spent with them. There were cute kittens and the sweetest puppy to entertain you. A good pool and bar. Definitely stay here it's such a welcoming place.

The location is a bit further out and the mopeds you can rent are quite old but it's an experience. The beds are also very hard.

Very nice and cute hostel, it is like advertised, with a nice pool and garden. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious. The staff was young, friendly and helpful, and they rented us a motorbike for a very reasonable price. They make good coffee and drinks too. Recommended.

The location is just a bit far from the city center, it takes 10-15 minutes by motorbike to reach. I wish they gave more sturdy and safe helmets with the motorbikes that they rent, cuz the usual vietnamese helmets are too thin and cheap.

Staff is absolutely amazing and very helpful. Cocktails are well balanced, pool very clean and they had a puppy and little kittens. Just perfect!

Everything about the property was amazing actually !! I can’t find the right words to describe how amazing the staff were, especially Thang and Mia!! You guys are the best ♥️

Really helpful Staff- who went out there way to help in everything.

The location is a bit out of town but fine if you’re happy to ride a moped which they can hire
