Tam Coc Cat Luong Homestay

The Homestay is on a lake and it’s absolutely beautiful. There is a lovely dog that lives there which is very friendly and playful. They helped us organise a VIP cabin sleeper bus to Hue and took us to the bus station and waited until we got on the right bus.

As the homestay is on a lake be prepared for little animals and bugs. There are lots of frogs hopping around m. We had lizards, centipedes, ants, spiders etc all around our room. Especially the bathroom. The beds are not the most comfortable and there are bugs all over the bed (NOT BED BUGS JUST GENERAL BUGS.) I wouldn’t advise staying here if you don’t hire a bike as it is a long way from Tam Coc town. The lady that runs the home stay speaks no English so ensure you have translate downloaded.

Not such a big issue, but just to let others know. It’s a bit of a distance from the main areas. It’s a beautiful bike ride, but make sure to get all the things you might want food and snack-wise. They make pretty good food but sometimes you might have to settle for only a couple of the options on the menu.

the location is nice as it’s very quiet and just out of town, the facilities were amazing and my room was equipped with a brand new shower, great air con, as well as a lovely pool outside

you have to rent a scooter to travel in and out of tam cox and surrounding areas, which is what’s expected when booking. the staff are really lovely and arrange taxis for you too and from the bus station at a reasonable cost

We liked how the property was away from the noise of the town centre but still near enough to scooter in. Everything was clean and the staff accomodating and helpful with our needs.

So quiet and oeacefull. Not too far from tam coc. Ate and drank with the family various tines. Did karaoke. All good for me. Stayed a bit longer. No stress. 👍

It has nice peaceful surroundings, The host was friendly and made an effort to get to know us. She also helped arrange taxis to town and back. Breakfast was good.

They initially tried to give us a room that had a very slanted floor! Wtf!!!! We asked to change to a room with a flat floor and they allowed us to, thankfully! The locks on the doors don't work from the inside and when you go out you have to padlock them from the outside. This was a pain and we had to ask for help several times. The bed wasn't uncomfortable as the mattress was still wrapped in plastic ( presumably to protect it.). On a couple of occasions we had to get rid of small cockroaches. The water from the tap is a weird brown colour. Water bottles are provided but you have to pay for them.The swimming pool is okay but at the shallow end it has an underwater shelf to sit on. This has a very sharp edge and I cut myself several times on it whilst swimming lengths. Very dangerous! The hotel is a 30 minute walk from town and unlike most other homestays you have to pay to rent bikes. We asked to rent bikes but the brakes didn't work on either bike so we declined. We ended up cutting our stay one night short as we weren't comfortable there. We appreciated that they only charged commission for the 3rd night and didn't charge us full. This place isn't the cheapest in Tam Coc and we realised there's far better accommodation nearer town for cheaper. With a bit more work sorting out these problems this place could be amazing.
