Indochine Premium Halong Bay

The boat is really great quality. (Looking at others half of them shouldn't be on the water) As the boat wasn't full, upgraded to a bigger cabin. Cabins are luxurious. Spa/swimming pool at the back was excellent, they even cooled the water down for us as it was far too hot for hot weather. Food was "wow" on first night. Set menu but ever so good including oysters, lobster and steak. Attentive staff. Buffet meals were excellent quality and variety of western choices if you want that. Definitely do the 2N option as 1 day option was rushed and they got less than 24 hours on board, most of it on excursions with 100s of others from other boats.

This boat seems to attract mainly Asian guests. We were only 4 English speaking guests on there. Big plus was we got individual explanations etc each time, and they did give us a table in a quieter corner of the dining room. The cruise of Halong Bay itself is quite sad. Way, way too many boats in the same area, most nowhere near full. Some boats looked like they should be in the boat graveyard. The bay is full of litter, plastic and debris, not what we were expecting given it's a UNESCO site. Day 2 on the day boat was slightly better as we went further afield but still always had other boats near or alongside. Be aware the 3D/2N option advertised by virtually all, is not 3 days. We boarded at 12:30pm day 1 and disembarked at 10:30am day 3 but we did get 2 full days of activities.

The boat, and all of the staff on it, were incredible. They really looked after all of the people on board, and helped us arrange our journey at the end of the trip. We had great food, lovely trips off the boat and really enjoyed our 2 day 1 night cruise. It does follow the same route as most boats, so you will be around lots of people when you do the trip into the cave and titop island, but I think that’s hard to avoid unless you do a tour to one of the other bays. We really enjoyed the short kayaking opportunity where we saw some monkeys.

As mentioned, the tours get crowded with people due to all the boats doing the same itinerary. It’s a shame, but not much you can do about it!

Everything on the cruise was phenomenal. The staff couldn’t have made us feel more welcome or be more concerned about making sure our stay was amazing. The food was also amazing, I couldn’t believe the standard and the quality of the dishes prepared. You definitely won’t go hungry!

I wish I could have stayed longer!

From the moment we got out of the taxi the staff were wonderful. The room was superb, we couldn’t believe the size and decor and wasn’t the most expensive room. There was 2 sizes above us even larger. I think no matter which room you book you will definitely not be disappointed.. The food was really great and exceeded our expectations. The buffet lunch was delicious and had so much choice. The dinner had high quality ingredients like lobster and oysters etc. They kept us busy with activities all the time.

Lovely stay in Ha Long Bay. Very authentic cruise experience that is supported by very friendly staff. We also did a few excursions on each day were amazing. Suggest the kayaking if you only get to choose 1. Also saw a few more modern boats that looked very comfortable, but were very loud at night and we're very happy we chose this one instead.

The food was OK, and mostly Western. We didn't get many options for dinner since it was a set menu. It was still very good

* Everything was just wonderful! Very glad we chose this cruise. Our ship was the most beautiful one we saw. * The crew was outstandingly attentive, kind and helpful. We were especially thankful for how much attention they paid to our dietary restrictions (we cannot eat gluten and dairy, plus some more allergies). They repeatedly asked exactly what we could have and directed us accordingly when choosing foods, they even made an extra meal for the set-menu multi course dinner just for us, to replace one we could not have (plus minor changes in other courses). * All in all the crew was always there to assist us and really put a lot of effort into making us feel good. The ship had a good and welcoming atmosphere thanks to the crew. * The ship was basically brand new and it shows - it is gorgeous. We were kindly upgraded to a room with a bathtub and this was really magical for us.
