Golden Sun Hotel Hoi An

The staff were nice and were happy to let us check in late at night. They recommended some great activities. The hotel is in a great location just near old town.

We were on the bottom floor. The door had glass stained windows so there was light coming into our room at all hours of the evening. We also had to listen to every person that checked in late or came in late at night which made it quite noisy. The aircon was also broken in our room for the first night which made it almost unbearable. The bathroom was also kind of gross and the sheets were not clean when we arrived.

The WORST customer service I’ve stumbled upon traveling south east Asia for months - They’re locking the hotel doors at night and if you what to get in or out you have to wake up an angry guard to unlock it and let you in - The window we saw in the pictures was FACING THE HALLWAY AND NOT OUTSIDE - We did our laundry here and really DON’T recommend! They lost 2 expensive items and when we tried to talk to the receptionist she was really rude and attacked us like we were trying to scam her. She just said “we don’t handle this case. Finish.” and stopped talking to me. In addition, the white laundry came back with all its stains just smelling better as if they just sprayed it with perfume. When we asked for a partial refund because the clothes were not clean (and we needed to wash them again some place else), they argued with us and eventually gave us back some of the money - making sure we know the hotel will not give it back and it’s from the employee pocket WE DIDNT RECEIVE THE SERVICE WE PAID FOR - It’s the first hotel I’ve been to that didn’t offer free drinking water in the room - they only had it in the mini bar (and it costs triple from what you’ll get on the street) -the shower head wasn’t fully attached to the wall making it unstable and the rainfall head was broken :/

Really friendly and helpful staff and great location!

We booked a “superior room” which didn’t end up having a window so room felt quite dark and stuffy. Agree with other reviews that the walls are very thin so it can be quite noisy. We were on the ground floor next to reception and could every one leaving and arriving so earplugs are recommended.

Good location, within walking distance of old town. Friendly staff.

Nothing stands out

We book three rooms but 2 rooms are on ground level had no window very sfocated and mosquitoes as well . No lift very hard when you travel with children and your room was on 3rd floor .

The wall was moldy (pictures attached). The window seems to have no isolation. As it's facing a junction, it's as loud in the room as if you were on the street. You can hear constant vehicles and honking.
