The Silver Sands is our go to place a few times a year. My wife and I live in Huntington Long Island and find the easy 1 hr 20minute ride to The Silver Sands and The LI Winery region a great and relaxing getaway. We found it a few years ago, the first month they were opened - been back many times - spring, summer, fall and most recently winter during the Dec 26th snowstorm. The Siver Sands is perfect every time in every way with a warm, friendly and helpful staff on every level. We Love Nookies and the summer time dining at Eddies on the beach. Its location on the Peconic Bay is beyond great -you instantly relax and enjoy upon arrival - Can't wait for our next stay in the spring.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed for a couple of days over thanksgiving and it was the perfect get away. Greenport is delightful, and so many great vineyards nearby.

A little bit further out of town than I would’ve liked (20 minute walk) - but very easy to get Ubers !

Excellent stay! Great room, grounds, staff and food. Well kept and designed. Perfect for a Fall getaway close to the city.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights for a quick anniversary/my birthday getaway. I had been to the property before for drinks/lunch last summer and was impressed. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable and Nookie's for breakfast was outstanding. The location is great - we spent Saturday walking and shopping in Greenport and then at a couple of local wineries. Love the place and would definitely return.

Silver Sands Motel is a nicely restored old motel, with small-ish rooms around a central courtyard and many cabins of various sizes. One restaurant on-site, and one bar. My wife and I recently stayed three nights to attend an area event. The lobby was inviting, and after a smooth check-in the attendant walked us to our room. The room was…uninspiring. Cleanly renovated, but small. We were told not to adjust the heat or air conditioning (?), an odd request. The small round table and small side table were covered with “stuff” (literature, a tray, lamps, etc.) leaving no real room for our stuff. The website said that there were coffee makers in the rooms, but beware – there are none in the motel rooms, it is free in the lobby. The bathroom was fine, except there was little-to-no counter space in there, either. We ended up storing toiletries on the windowsill and leaving the hair dryer on the floor. The small restaurant adjacent to the lobby was a nice find – great for breakfast with good food and attentive service. When we asked for a fire to be built in one of the two firepits, the staff member attended to it quickly. All staff we encountered were nice, and helpful. The motel is fairly conveniently located. Nothing in walking distance, but downtown Greenport, farms, wineries, and beaches are all within a fairly short drive. The big rub is this – we have never paid so much for a “motel,” no matter how nicely renovated it is! At $450 per night plus taxes and fees, the price value was just not there. Of course, no one forced us to stay there so the decision was ours, but we do believe the pricing was way out of line. Will we go back? No.

Wonderful!! The grounds and beach are beautiful, our rooms were perfect. The staff so welcoming. Close to town but peaceful. The management have gone above and beyond in making sure you have everything to enjoy your getaway. There is not one thing I would add or change. We will definitely be back.
