The Sierra Motel

It was a pleasure staying at the Sierra Motel. First it was very clean. The decor and updates are fabulous. The host very responsive and personable. Easy to park and get around from the location.

My wife and I (30’s), along with our dog, spent 4 nights at The Sierra Motel. This was the perfect spot for exploring Traverse City! The motel looks so appealing from the road as you pull in. The owners have meticulously designed it with a cool, retro vibe. We were immediately welcomed and provided with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, as well as information on the area. Inside everything was spotlessly clean. We knew we made an excellent choice and felt right at home. Parking is free and always available, and the drive into the town takes less than 5 minutes. We used the free BATA shuttles which run on a loop to and from the downtown area quite a bit too. The pickup/drop off spot is a short 1-2 min walk from the motel, and the entire trip takes about 10 minutes. We felt incredibly safe, and would recommend The Sierra to anyone visiting TC!

This has been by far the best stay we've had in Traverse City. They were able to get us an early check in and the staff was so nice and welcoming. Defiantly will be staying here from now on!

Very clean and updated room. Good location. Ample parking. Nice size fridge and bathroom. Keurig is available.

Owners were welcoming and kind, room was comfortable and had everything needed for a relaxing stay. Would come back!

This motel is located with easy access to the center of Traverse City. It is clean and comfortable. The owners, Barrett and Andrea, are willing sources of information, especially about dining choices and winery visits.

This little gem is the perfect place to call home base if you plan to be out and about exploring the city and peninsula’s! The room was immaculate and clean with really unique mid century modern decor! You can really tell the owners take great pride in your experience and they make it known throughout your stay that anything you need they will make it happen without being invasive at all! The value for the stay was amazing in comparison to any other hotel in the area, especially since we planned on bringing out for the majority of our stay. I didn’t feel like I was paying an arm and a leg to just sleep somewhere. There are not any amenities like pool, restaurant, or common areas, which is why I describe it as a great home base to come and go with a perfect room that’s clean and modern!

Very pleasant overnight stay at the Sierra Motel. Owner operator who clearly takes pride in their establishment. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Room air conditioning was able to keep up with the heat wave blanketing the area during g our stay. Would certainly stay here again!
