The Sierra Motel

Really cute motel. We couldn't hear anybody else from the room we had in the corner. It wasn't an issue for us but the ice machine is in the lobby and the lobby was closed most of the time we were there so definitely plan for that if you need ice. Close to beaches, very walkable area. Owners were very friendly. We would definitely stay again!

The owners/staff are personable and professional. They have done a great job with the updated, retro feeling, decor.

Classic motel; drive right up to your door. Easy unload and load. I appreciate that pets are allowed. Easy parking.

What a pleasant surprise to find a cute motel with mid-century ambiance! I will start with a couple of suggestions & then write about all the wonderful aspects of my stay. Suggestions: 1) Add a small dresser 2) Lower the closet bar just a tad for short people like me (5 ft) 3) Add a shelf and/or a small table in the bathroom. Now all the wonderful aspects: 1) Good bedding 2) Allow pets 3) The vinyl flooring is great 4) Key fob for door entry is awesome 5) An adorable retro pink refrigerator in great working order 6) Great soundproofing 7) Well chosen furniture, accessories, & paint w/beautiful wood paneled ceiling 8) Located near downtown 9) Greeted by Owners who shared their history of their time with this property 10) The bathroom, especially the walking shower with superior pressure. I already want to return to spend more time in Traverse City and stay at this retro motel with all modern amenities.

Really makes the most of being a 50s-era property with a groovy MCM ambience and well-appointed rooms, at an excellent location and everything taken care of by its friendly staff.

This Motel was lovely to stay in. Friendly staff and clean room. Perfect place for a trip to Traverse City!

It was perfect for us

The owners were super nice and thoughtful. The hotel is pet friendly and well curated with a clean simple hip design. Sigi and I were near everything including the entrance to the Mission Peninsula. We will be back again soon. I just sent friends there with their cat and they enjoyed it as well.
