Bridge of The Gods

The weather was not exactly accommodating for winter of course which means you have to run the heater fairly constantly to keep the room warm. Never got cold but the heater is quite loud, kinda hard to rest well. Otherwise nice and quiet between the Interstate and the Columbia River. Dining, brewery and coffee shop nearby makes for easy dining decisions. Would certainly stay again in the future.

We seriously regretted booking here. It's very expensive and there were problems, especially relative to the price. The good news: The cabins are clean and interior looks like the picture, with the only exception that the mini fridge was much smaller than in the picture and could barely fit anything in it. Ants in the dining area, but that's a common issue and doesn't bother me too much. The problems: First of all, cabins are nestled into what they call an "RV park," which implies recreational vehicles passing through town. But it's in reality a trailer park of long-term residents who are presumably paying monthly rent, not vacation daily rate. (People kept lots of stuff in front of trailers showing they were long-term residents, such as a whole refrigerator, etc. The manager confirmed that these are residents, as she herself used to be a resident before taking the job.) Population density means dogs barking, hearing other people's music playing, lots of stray cats running around. I genuinely don't want to disparage people living there, but I think we can agree it's not what a customer expects from a vacation rental-- especially a "cabin" in a beautiful natural area like the Columbia River Gorge, where people seek out cabin rentals to feel connected to the location, hiking, etc. Secondly, the cabins advertise high speed internet, but there is NO internet connection at all. Network did not even show up in the list, and when typed manually, refused to connect. On the TV, a handful of cable channels worked, and half the channels were frozen on still shots. Our cabin was much farther from the router, located all the way across the facility by the trailers, so we asked whether we might be moved to another cabin. The manager at first denied the problem, saying "no one has complained" and "everyone loves that cabin." Then after stopping by in person, and seeing that it was indeed a problem, she deferred to the off-site owner; he had to be called on the phone, and he refused to help in any way—no discount and not allowing us to move to another cabin, which he referred to as an "upgrade," even though identical cabins close to the router were vacant. Less of a problem, but still: the style of hospitality is frugal. They don't keep any additional toilet paper rolls or bedding in the cabins, which meant we had to walk through the residential community in the rain every time we needed simple things like toilet paper, bedding for the futon, etc. It gives the impression that the business doesn't have ease of hospitality in mind. The good news, to end on a happy note, is that the cabin was clean and warm. And I think the manager was trying her best, and my impression is that her off-site boss is a really unpleasant person.

The room was disgusting. It looked like it had NEVER been cleaned.

A dump. Room dusty and only marginally acceptable. At check in was told my reservation couldn’t be found, and when it finally was found I was told I needed to pay an additional $100 for my stay or else they would cancel my reservation.

More then I expected with a great price

We had a very nice stay. The TV in the first room was horrible but the staff gave us another room. That room was bigger and the TV worked all thought the remote was hit and miss. The unit had 2 TV's, One was ROKU only, no local TV. The larger TV had service but no remote.

What I liked it was a single cabin and room to move around in

This motel was clean with a very comfy bed and a nice kitchen too.
