"Lovely stay in a great location in Pickering"

7.0

- Lovely, cozy, cottage - The welcome treats and milk were greatly appreciated! - Great location, just a stroll into Pickering - We enjoyed the cottage in rain and in sun during our 4 nights - the great British weather! - The bathroom is lovely. Lots of nice products to use - Pillows and duvets are good quality - Even though it’s on a main road, it wasn’t too noisy - we visited Flamingo Land (10 mins) , Eden Camp (15 mins) and even went a bit further to The Deep aquarium in Hull (1 hour 20 drive)

- if you have kids: the doors upstairs drag on the carpet and very creepy floorboards so trying to do anything quietly at night was difficult, plus it’s all open downstairs with no door to the staircase so watching tv when the kids go to bed could be tricky - No mirror in one of the doubles - We couldn’t find an oven glove? - The conservatory needs some tlc - plant growing inside, freezing cold, cobwebs etc

"Beautiful cottage, great location. Great for dog owners."

8.0

Great location, easy parking, loved the style of the cottage and the great spaces inside and out. Beautifully decorated throughout. Managed to leave the car and walk entirely for a couple of days which is always appreciated too. Lovely to have milk, wine and biscuits on arrival too. The cottage is very much aimed at dog owners too. We don't have a dog so might be good to make this clear in the advertising.

There were a few things that seemed not in keeping with the rest of the cottage - the kitchen cupboard door handle was hanging off, there were quite a few chipped cups and plates, the coffee machine doesn't work, the freezer door doesn't close as it desperately needs defrosting and there were dead flowers in the kitchen! There is no bathroom bin which seems unusual as every other room had one and thats often where you need one. Restaurant recommendations weren't up to date as some places had closed down or no longer served food including the owners favourite, The Sun Inn, right opposite. When on holiday you are usually looking for somewhere to eat not just have a drink.

So Cozy, perfect for my family and close to the town . We were happy there was a washing machine so we could clean all our clothes. Being from Australia we appreciated the central heating.

"Great Cottage!"

10.0

Me & my friends stayed over at Cruck Cottage for 3 nights in April. When we arrived we were blown away every room was so lovely. We were left wine & chocolates which was a lovely gesture. The bathroom was stunning! There was shampoo, shower wash etc… all the little things you need for a few days break. The cottage is dog friendly & had many toys for my friends two Boston terriers. The cottage is very quirky looking we loved it, we loved the landing area upstairs the door looked to be cut out of the wall lol we thought this was great lol The floors upstairs do creek when walking around in the bedrooms lol but what do you expect for a cottage being over 300 years old. The back courtyard was stunning to we had the perfect weather so we sat outside quite a bit. The parking is hit & miss you have to park where you can we managed to park on the main road not to far from the cottage, unfortunately there was temporary roadworks outside with temporary traffic lights so that made a few problems trying to park back up (if we moved our car) but after 4pm they seem to finish for the day so you can easily move your car later on. There is also parking around the corner off the main road. The pubs, shops were literally a 5 minute walk from the cottage if you needed food / drinks. There are lots of take aways in the area to which do deliver. Pickering castle was only a 15 minute walk away it’s a must see. We cannot thank you enough for our beautiful stay with all the personal touches in this cottage. Felt home from home.
