Cottage in the heart of the Peak District

The cottage itself, the location, the view from the window at the back, the local people and the ambiance of the place. Great to return to my home county for a while! We hope to come back soon..

Location was excellent with Matlock 5 mins away, Chatsworth and Bakewell a short drive. There was also a children's play park in the village and lovely walks.

Parking was a bit tight. We got lucky each day and parked very close to the cottage.

Fabulous unusual cottage with everything you need, friendly helpful host.A short walk in both directions to two dog friendly pubs. Great location for attractions.

My Jack Russell couldn't deal with the large windows to the street,she gets excited at anyone going past (a problem with the dog not the property),but really loved the hiding place under the stairs

Newly refurbished cottage. Such a lovely welcome with the bread and milk. The bed linen are super soft. Everything is extremely clean.

There is no sound isolation and blackout blinds. Even though, location was great for the trail and bike renting place, it was quite far from the grocery store or good pubs.

Really lovely little cottage - nicely appointed and had everything in that we expected and more besides. The ‘negatives’….. parking was really difficult ! You take pot luck parking on the street opposite the cottage which made bring clothes / baggage in (and out) a bit of a trial as the road was pretty busy in the morning and evening (it’s a main route and people appeared to completely ignore the speed limit !). The two sofas were really uncomfortable!! I know it’s a petty complaint, but as it’s the main seating in the living room, it would have been nice to have a better set of seats ! The positives however far outweigh any criticism! A beautiful little cottage with beautiful amenities…. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy and the little welcome hamper was a real treat ! Overall a great stay and highly recommended
