The Fox at Willian

Honestly, I cannot recommend this more - I had the absolute best stay this weekend at The Fox! The staff was insanely kind and helpful, the room and facilities were on par with what I expected - if not better - and the cleanliness and comfort of the room made me feel so relaxed. I enjoyed this stay so much and would recommend it to solo travelers, couples, and families alike! The restaurant & bar is the cherry on top, where I was able to have a delicious British Sunday roast :)

Selected for the location- we were on a family visit and I was born close by. The room was clean and bathroom functioned if a little small.

This is a village pub with rooms, yes we arrived 1 hour before checkin, but had to wait to checkin or be charged. I am sure that I booked the room with breakfast as I always do., but was asked to pay extra for breakfast. The room was too small for two people-especially with a suitcase. The throw cushions on the bed took up too much space, so we eventually stored them under the bed, each day finding them spread across the bed once more. I have not slept in a small double bed with the two of us for years. My wife and I found ourselves balanced on a rather soft edge to the bed, with resulting backpain. To cap everything, service in the restaurant was really slow. 45 mins between courses is excessive after a long wait to order, this capped with a request to vacate the dining room immediately after our last course as they wished to close. Food was passable, if not great. In all a bad experience- possibly they were distracted by an upcoming 20th anniversary, but with this type of service, it will not last much longer.

With exception of Kate who was fantastic our overall experience was disappointing. The room we stayed in had paper thin walls so we were kept awake till 2am by people chatting in the adjacent room.
