GBThe building was historic. The pool was warm
We were put in a dressing room. The shower didn’t close , the tap in basin moved. There was no headboard to the bed. The bed was uncomfortable . The receptionist gave us room 10 key but neglected to say the room was a dressing room. Which it had on the door which was very unhelpful. We were offered no help with our cases. The main part of the hotel was shut down no bar , lights off.

Booked a suite with a 4 post bed for our anniversary to find it had been given away. The room we were given was meant to have a garden view. Could barely see out the tiny window but it was an obstructed view of a grassy hill. Half drunk bottled water and dirty glasses were left. Stains on the bedding, furniture was tired and worn. No restaurant or hot food available in the evening. Spa facilities were basic leisure centre facilities. Pictures were very deceiving as this was a very dated property with no character or atmosphere. The local area was lifeless and we struggled to find somewhere half decent to eat.

The facilities are dated. The shower in the room did not work. Water came out for 30 seconds and then stopped totally. When we reported this at check out the staff were very dismissive saying that there is a water pressure issue on that floor and it can take 5 to 10 minutes for it to work. I explained we had tried for over 20 minutes and nowhere in the room did it state there was an issue, we were also not informed of this at check in. They were not interested even though we explained we had not been able to shower. The cafe was dirty and not cleaned. There were crips on the floor from the previous day that had not been swept up in the morning when we went for breakfast, the tables were also not wiped down and clean. Overall a really disappointing stay and not value for money especially when we could not have a wash!!! Came home for a hot shower!

I think the whole place was shocking! I travelled 200 miles to stay here and when I got there at 7pm in the evening I was told my room wasn’t suitable and that they had nothing else for me so I had to leave and get a refund! Absolutely shocking and would never recommend

Felt like the hotel was mid-refurb, although no mention of this in any advertising. Felt somewhat misled as to facilities and standard of accommodation for what *should* be a luxury hotel, but isn't.
GBAbsolutely lovely hotel room was amazing perfect for what we needed breakfast was a buffet no complaints from me would definitely recommend .
