Relais del Mare

Breakfast was good, wasn't given a menu though. Was just told by waiter that they have this this and this. Did not understand much English.

The room is right next to a kitchen of what seems to be a restaurant at night. Was not aware of this and the kitchen made a lot of noise till 00:30 in the morning.

Commençons par les points positifs : - le personnel a été aux petits soins pour nous. La dame de l’accueil s’est occupé de notre petit déjeuné ainsi que de la gestion de l’accueil et du ménage, et c’était pour le coup très propre. Il faut souligner d’ailleurs que la femme s’occupant de nous a été débordé à la dernière minute : nous avions demandé à déposer nos valises comme nous arrivons plus tôt (cependant sans demander l’accès à la chambre plus tôt) et le propriétaire nous a gentiment proposé d’y avoir accès exceptionnellement ment plus tôt. Sur le coup, nous avons trouvé cela sympathique, jusqu’à ce que l’on se retrouve coincé pendant une heure et demie le temps que le ménage soit fait dans la précipitation, la femme s’occupant de nous n’ayant pas été prévenu. Elle devait avoir jusqu’à 15h pour faire le ménage et le propriétaire du airbnb l’a laissé tout gérer seule, la chambre était cependant impeccable. - La vue, très belle sur le port, un bel emplacement.

Maintenant, abordons les nombreux points négatifs : - ce lieu se présente comme au hôtel, hors il s’agit bel et bien d’un AIRBNB. Nous avons été très déçus car nous avons revérifier sur booking et ce dernier s’affiche lorsque l’on coche « hôtel ». Hors, ne vous fiez pas à cela, vous aurez une chambre dans un appartement, partagé avec … un restaurant. Oui, vous serez littéralement entre la cuisine (à moins d’un mètre) et la salle de service (à un mètre). Nous n’avions donc AUCUNE intimité, et n’osions pas sortir de notre chambre de peur de déranger entre les nombreux services. - Le bruit était insupportable, jusqu’à minuit avec de la musique à fond et le bruit du service, jusqu’à entendre claquer contre notre porte, nous empêchant de dormir avant facilement minuit alors que nous nous levions tôt ensuite. - Le petit déjeuné, présenté en photo, était loin de ressembler à cela. Nous avions le choix entre plusieurs plats mais il ne s’agissait pas du tout de ceux en images qui étaient généreux en choix, ces derniers étant relativement petits et simples. Les pancakes n’en sont d’ailleurs pas, ils ressemblent à ceux vendus en grande surface par Pasquier niveau texture et goût (proche d’une brioche très sucrée). - L’eau chaude variait également en fonction de si les cuisinier se servaient de l’eau ou pas, passant du brûlant au glacé très facilement. Nous devions donc éviter de nous laver avant minuit. - De plus le lit n’est absolument pas un jingle size. C’était la troisième chambre avec cette option que nous avions choisi pour notre séjour du fait de la grande taille, et contrairement aux deux autres hôtels qui correspondaient à la taille King size, celui de cet airbnb était tout au mieux un queen size. En sommes, nous nous sommes sentis floués. Nous voulions un hôtel car mon conjoint étant diabétique, nous préférons loger dans un hôtel ayant un personnel disponible même la nuit en cas de besoin d’appeler un service médical. Hors, il n’y avait personne la nuit.

Jättefint läge med utsikt över Marina Grande och solnedgången från den lilla balkongen. Välstädat och snyggt rum/badrum. Det är det enda rummet, de har också en populär restaurang, med fin liten terrass dit många gäster kommer kvällstid.

Det enda som var lite sämre var allt slammer från köket när de skulle stänga restaurangen på kvällen, men det vara bara för att vi gick och la oss ovanligt tidigt den fredagskvällen.

location was phenomenal! excellent views and great places to eat right outside the location. staff was extremely pleasant. Giuseppe was a great host. communicated very well at all hours of the day and night for even small issues. morning breakfast was included and it was a great touch. grazi!

although the windows provided excellent noise isolation, the door did not. since this is a bed a breakfast kind of place with the room being directly next to the entrance to a small (and also very good restaurant) and its kitchen, the noise level around closure time was a bit much. 22:00-23:30 when the dishes are being washed and final laughs are being shared 😂 anyway, we had ear plugs and they worked great, but something to consider. maybe Giuseppe can leave ear plugs on the table for the guests. we went to bed early (around 23:00), but we got up early too, so if u plan on staying up later then 11pm then you are ok. no noise in the morning

Great location. Great view. Very clean room. Wonderful breakfast served by Connie and Ema.

Very odd set up. Was not described anywhere in the description that it was a single room in a working restaurant. Our room was directly off the check-in desk for the restaurant. Every time we walked in, we felt like we were intruding on the restaurant. The restaurant closed at 10:30. Most nights it wasn’t too late With the noise of cleaning up but the last night it was 2 o’clock in the morning before the staff left. Door to the entrance of the restaurant from the hallway was a little difficult to open with the key. One evening when we returned, we had an issue and we were insulted by one of the managers. The primary focus is the restaurant not guests staying there. There is no close drop off point for a car to bring you to the building. There are a lot of steps up and down which we managed fine except with our luggage.

We REALLY enjoyed our stay! Amazing view with a very comfy room. The staff made us feel like family! Very accommodating! Giuseppe was especially helpful with anything we needed! We will surely return!

Gorgeous spot, warm & friendly staff with a beautiful view and surroundings., they made us feel right at home ❤️. Keep your luggage light though, the stairs and surrounding area are steep.

Breakfast good. Location not as good as advertised.

On the strength of their self description & guest opinions in Booking.com (which had never led us astray before), we booked & prepaid the Relais for 9 nights. Once we had found it - no easy task since their only sign was in small lettering under significantly bigger lettering denoting what is obviously their main business, a busy restaurant in which the room we rented was nestled between the kitchen & restaurant. None of this is disclosed in their on-line advertising. On entering the building’s stairwell we were greeted with a sewage-like stench. In Relais defence, it was only intermittently present and did not penetrate as far as the room/restaurant/kitchen, but it did not augur well. The room itself was clean but small & a balcony so tiny it was impossible for two people to occupy it at the same time. No complaints about its bathroom. No safe. It is a room that might be acceptable in a place charging a 1/4 to 1/3 what the Relais charges. What was not acceptable at any price is the lack of soundproofing from the noise of their busy restaurant & kitchen located not more than 5m from the room. Sleep was in short supply that night. When we told the rep of our dissatisfaction, his only response was to inform us of their strict no-refund policy. Perhaps anticipating a -ve review they also incorrectly advised Booking.com that we were no-shows. We corrected that with Booking.com. The following morning, after the included breakfast (which was quite good) we decamped in search of better accommodation. It did not take us long to find a 4-room apartment with a real balcony, an unobstructed view, and full amenities, about 100m from the Relais. The bonus? It was priced at less than 1/2 what the Relais demands. So how can the Relais receive so many 10/10 reviews? Perhaps this reference explains: https://www.euronews.
