Host & Stay - 1 The Mount

Fantastic spacious property in a central location, three bed/three bathrooms, off road parking, views from the living space, very well presented throughout, good value, great for families or friend groups, would not hesitate to book again.

Lack of normal drinking glasses/tumblers and pint glasses, there are no hooks or anywhere to hang wet towels - both points are on previous feedback but have not been addressed. The property was generally very well presented and clean but there were spills down the kitchen units and on the wall/skirting by the bin, also similar in the small ensuite. Host & Stay kept sending messages to fill in a registration form and pay damage cover with no links to click on as stated - messaged two or three times re this, initially no response, then just the standard messages sent again, still no links. Eventually spoke to someone who said 'yeah, when you book with booking.com the links don't work' - well if they know that, then please address it - it is very frustrating for the customer.

Location for beach and views and access to town centre. Apartment is very smart, nothing scruffy or worn-out at all. All the plumbing works. Having 4 toilets for 6 people is brilliant.

Overall this property is excellent. But, given the care and money that has clearly been lavished upon it, there were a few surprising oddities about the catering equipment provided. e.g. No potato peeler (we bought one and left it there, but it's not top quality, so others may like to bring their own). It's an apartment for 6 people, so having only 6 of various plates, tumblers etc meant having to wash stuff more frequently than desirable. We'd rather have had, say, 12 tumblers, 1 or 2 dishes to serve casseroles in, and a bit more cutlery (incl some serving spoons) rather than the 27 wine glasses provided. CAR PARKING : The parking slot for one car is perfect, just 20 metres from the front door (when you get there : but the last half-mile of the drive through narrow one-way streets is not for the faint-hearted !) But 6 people will usually come in two cars, and for the second car parking will be a daily hassle. For a second car it would be very useful if Host&Stay could provide detailed guidance on how to get a Parking Permit etc..

The living room on the top, with the well equipped kitchen, provided lovely views of Cooks statue, and the lovely whalebone arch... The location was great...

I know this has been referenced before, but the ensuite shower in the double room, on the floor upon entering the property was too small....

Great location, ideal for 6 adults having three bathrooms. Well equipped and comfortable. Nice vaulted ceiling in the lounge.

Only one parking space and no outside area.

Self catering. Went to Wetherspoon for breakfast. Just a 5 min walk. Parking brilliant. Amazing views from first floor lounge with windows on three aspects.

No lock on inside of front door which we needed for toddler safety.
