Westland Shores - An East Neuk Gem

Unfortunately when we arrived at 3.05pm (check-in was from 3pm) the cleaner was in the house. She said her colleague had gone to get clean linen and she was still cleaning. We asked if we could go into the kitchen to have a snack (we had been travelling all day and had brought some instant pasta which needed boiling water) but were not allowed access to the house at all. I then gave her my number and asked her to let me know when the house was ready. She sent me a message at 3.30pm. It would have been useful to have known before setting off that the house would not be ready for check-in time. We went to a nearby cafe for tea and scones as we were so hungry! The cleaners were obviously rushed, so although the house was mostly clean, the mirrors in the wardrobe in the master bedroom were really filthy and there was a pair of knickers and socks in the bedside drawer which wasn't a pleasant discovery. Apart from that everything else was great. The house was lovely, beautifully decorated and well equipped (not much matching crockery and glassware but plenty of everything). It was in a great location and very handy for the Coastal Path where we enjoyed taking a few walks.

The property is lovely, it has everything needed for a short or long stay. We travelled for a wedding in St Andrews and the house was a perfect place to stay for a few days.

Beautiful house at perfect location. All looks really brand new! Loved the basket with local goodies, and the dog loved the dog bed. And the snacks. Thank you!

The house had a nice feel and was decorated and maintained well. The garden was a great space and backed onto a green space which was great for dogs. The main bedroom upstairs was an excellent space with en-suite and dressing room. Very well equipped for us to use as a holiday cottage. Lots of thoughtful touches around the house which makes it feel very comfortable. Several bathrooms/ WC which was ideal for a group of adults.

The bed in the master bedroom could be upgraded to kingsize which would be improve it further.
