"Lovely little cottage which needs a paint and very good clean!"

7.0

Lovely extras eg toiletries and eco loo roll. Comfortable beds

Lacking standard essentials eg dish cloth, doormats and a bit shabby compared to pictures on website. No mention about steep staircase.

"Lovely stay in a traditional cottage"

9.0

Lovely cottage, comfortable beds, bedrooms next to bathrooms. Very clean. WiFi.

There was no dining table and chairs to sit on. We missed that as we like sitting around the table for meals and board games.

Local to town. Nice cottage. Friendly village.

No Wi-Fi. We both had things we needed to do. Only one of us could get a phone signal. Luckily I could get online at one of the local pubs.

"Challenging access to first floor"

7.0

Location was fine just a short walk from centre of Kirkbymoorside, and street parking outside propert was very useful. Bedrooms and bathrooms on both floors very good with enormous double beds and good showers.

No mention in property details about the tight, steep and winding staircase access to 1st & 2nd floors. Both in our late 60's, my wife and I found accessing the bedrooms more than a little challenging. The property details should highlight that anyone with mobility issues could find this an issue. Also, on arrival, the property felt very cold, and when we tried operating the hand held heating control there was no power to the control unit despite repeated attempts. I contacted # Booking.com by telephone and was asked if I could maybe go to shops and purchase new batteries ! However on a Saturday evening in a strange town I said that I did not know if there were local shops open, and also that we were going out to dinner. I was then asked if I could try replacing the batteries with those from the TV remote, which I had already tried but they were a different size. We eventually obtained batteries later that evening from a late night garage and got the heating working. Finally no window coverings in rear of living room, which was open to public access. Also no window coverings in either bathroom which was visible from outside properties.

Bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely, the mattress was so comfy great nights sleep.

The house keeping poor and they take £60 for cleaning which i think is not acceptable as it wasn't clean, self catering we couldn't use there pans as they were a health and safety issue had to go out and buy our own to cook with had to deep clean the kitchen before using also had to boil water in a pan we bought as the kettle wasn't clean we even descaled it had to wipe in the fridge before we could put food into it good job we took a throw as the cream sofa was badly stained we found out the property was up for sale so we think that's why they couldn't care about it....
