LOVLEY BUT URGENTLY NEEDS INVESTMENT/ ATTENTION AS IT COULD BE FANTASTIC as both myself & my partner agreed that this has the potential to be a stunning location & venue if done correctly......HENCE THE LONG REVIEW BUT NOT THERE YET. On arrival George was very helpful & pleasent to help with are booking in & key pick etc. The venue itself is a fantastic building both inside & out & in a lovley location. Are room was very spacious & clean Whilst beds appeared to be quite new they where very buget. Plug sockets was a multi extention just placed on floor. Bedroom window where sash windows with opening mechanism broken.We were lucky that we had brilliant weather but had to wedge window open to allow badly needed air ventilation. Bathroom. This was clean but again had a role down blind to provide privacy but this was broken & widing mechanism again not working. Downstairs Area Again fantastic oldie worldie decor with a grand piano & beautiful set out dinning area.But all furniture/suites & carpets in this area in need of professional fabric cleaning. Kitchen Area Well stocked & seemed to have most things needed & clean but again needs decorating & needs period update Conclusion would we come back & stay again? .... NOT IN ITS PRESENT STATE. But once completed tastefully & correctly would be lovley to revist then has it could have the potential for a real whoow factor.

It’s an old style estate building with character and some grandeur. The owner and managerial staff are friendly and down to earth. The kitchen is beautiful and has all you need including tea/coffee, fridge, freezer. There’s a beautiful grand piano and free pool table in the games room. So many things to like. However…

The good things were unfortunately spoilt by simple things like poor communication from the property staff/management - wifi had not been available for the 2 nights we were there. Even with promises of “seeing to it” and multiple WhatsApp messages, nothing was responded via WhatsApp. The day I left, I happened across the manager who then explained of the wifi issue. Although I find it a little dubious as wifi seems to be an ongoing issue for this establishment. But giving them the benefit of the doubt why not simply explain the issue when asked about it multiple times? Or put a sign up for all guests to explain what the issue is and when it is expected to be resolved. Because the basement rooms then did not have wifi access and were also not able to get any service via data/4g. So if you’re downstairs, you’re completely disconnected. So poorly communicated and poorly handled. The basement room was damp and affected my lungs. I just did not want to rest in the room. Anyone with lung issues would suffer in that space. They have central heating, but have removed the thermostat controllers and control the heating for the whole house themselves. So you don’t have control of the temp of your room!? So a cold damp basement room that is devoid of heating is not good at all. Asthmatics avoid! The basement room was full of cobwebs in corners and spindly spiders, clearly not cleaned very well. Our bin has not been emptied from the previous room users. I must add, however, that when we complained our party in the basement room was given a room upstairs. That was appreciated. However, our first floor room party was not without issue - the shower head was full of mould. I will attach a pic. So, the level of detail is really not present. When I mentioned this, we were promised a new shower head. This sadly did not reach us until the morning of check out so was too late. We did mention this on the first day.

Poor Internet

Prachtige mansion en tuin. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaren. Zeer complete gedeelde keuken en woonkamer. De bedden zijn prima en schoon. Mogelijkheid om elektrische auto op te laden. Gratis parkeergelegenheid.

De hygiëne van de badkamer, weer/schimmelplekken op de voegen. Waarschijnlijk veroorzaakt door matige ventilatie, ramen gaan moeizaam open, maar ze kunnen wél degelijk open. Wifi is heel erg traag of niet werkend in de slaapkamer.

Der Gastgeber ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, gern zu einem Gespräch bereit. Man kann sich im gesamten Haus ungezwungen bewegen. Die Grand Hall lädt zum Lesen und Spielen ein. Sehr schön ist auch die riesige Küche, in der man Selbstmitgebrachtes zubereiten und essen kann.
