The Falls - Value Rooms at Aultnagar Estate

I was on a hiking break so the location was perfect for me. The property sits well away from the road so it was very quiet. The kitchen area looked new with an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge so everything you could possibly need.

There wasn't really anything not to like. The shower tray was a bit soft, as though there wasn't enough support underneath. I'm very small so it was fine but I wonder if it would support a much larger person.

Big spacious room. Good kitchen facilities.

No breakfast for bed and breakfast.

We had a large room with 4-poster bed and 2 sofas. we did not see any of the staff, but the instructions were clear so we could check-in by ourselves. As we had been there before we knew the facilities available in the kitchen, which were ideal for us as we wanted an early departure next morning.

The bathroom was a little cramped, and the bath water took a long time to come hot - but then it was scalding hot. Driving in the dark from the north I overshot the entrance driveway as the sign is only visible coming from the south.

After 2 days of walking the hills and sleeping in my van it was excellent a hot shower and a comfy bed.

Beautiful room on the estate, comfortable bed, lovely and warm, everything clean. Easy automatic check in. Nice touch left by owners of water, juice and breakfast items. Kitchen available with drinking water provided. Wifi great too.

It was a shame there was no hot water in the morning so we were unable to shower. The water has some sediment in it also which makes a brown colour, even though it is ok for washing in.

What a privilege to be able to stay in Andrew Carnegie's beautiful old house. The current owner is doing renovations so they are letting out some of the rooms, with access to a kitchen for self- catering. The views are stunning and it's fascinating to think of what it would have been like in it's hayday. We had a gorgeous walk, saw grouse, raven and deer. Great cafes in nearby Lairg, Ardgay and Inverclassy. Beautiful forests, rivers and hills all around.

the decor was apalling, the place is falling apart inside and out. Terrible plaser repair on the ceiling, huge chunk of wallpaper missing in the bathroom. Chipped bedside light from a junk shop, draughty windows, filthy around back of toilet and bath. Exterior of the building in a dreadful state, rotten wood, plants growing in the gutters, cracks in building. Internal staircase and communal kitchen very dirty in places. How they can charge the huge amount for the room escapes me...very clearly a case of misrepresentation on booking.com
