Excellent and host is super friendly
GBGBA wonderful welcome awaited us at this lovely place. The owners were so lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure that our stay with them was as perfect as it was possible to be. The breakfast was freshly cooked and perfect, and the other breakfast foods were plentiful and of a really good quality. A perfect place to stay and we would have no hesitancy in recommending it wholeheartedly to all travellers in the area!

GBThe owners Sam and Jessica have recently taken over the hotel and rescued it from a derelict state following the bankruptcy of the previous owners. They've since been busy refurbishing/redecorating the hotel and restoring the grounds, which are quite extensive and feature lawns and a large children's playground area. The husband and wife team are extremely welcoming and friendly, and their enthusiasm and love for their hotel shines through in the level of service provided and attention to every detail. The décor is unusual and charming, and provides lots of character to the hotel! Despite its proximity to the M40, I got a good night's sleep due to the double glazed windows that blocked out almost all of the road noise. Everything was spotlessly clean, my single bed was comfortable enough and my shower in the morning was perfect. I had the full English breakfast, which was nicely cooked and feature an Asian-style crispy fried egg, which I loved! I will definitely be returning in the near future. EDIT: I returned for a second visit and was welcomed very warmly by Jessica and Sam. Everything about my stay was perfect!

GBGBIt had walls and a roof
Serious lack of room soundproofing. All ground floor rooms are back to back off a corridor and you can hear every cough and fart from your neighbour. Harsh furnishings and tiled floor don’t help with soundproofing either. The beds were distinctly uncomfortable and one thin pillow and one thin cushion made for a restless sleep.

Not well signposted or well lit on arrival. Strange smell in room which don’t believe was damp or similar. Rooms not very well sound proofed. Too much chintzy decor for my taste
GBEverything was fine. People were friendly, parking great and it was easy to find. Breakfast was excellent. The only thing I would say is that the building is not on a par with the furnishings in a large hotel so I think the price was a bit too high for what it was. It was very clean.
