Black Bull Bellingham

Fantastic hotel! Very welcoming and friendly staff. Booked as a last minute thing and totally recommended it.

I travelled with my partner, sister in law and nephews 10 & 12. We had two great rooms with views of the countryside, but only had one night at the Black Bull Inn. We wished we could have spent more time there. We loved the old English pub atmosphere & our host was generous with her time. Our dinner and breakfasts were delicious and good portions. I have already told many friends of the Black Bull, and know that two who are travelling for 2months in the UK from late August will be making a booking on our recommendation. I encourage Aussies and Kiwis to spend a night or two there when exploring around Hadrian's Wall.

Spent a night in the triple room. Double mattress was very uncomfortable, with hard springs making it a near sleepless night. Bedroom carpet was badly frayed. Room was clean. Breakfast nicely cooked, but toast tasted like it was from a 'value' loaf, with no choice of 'white or brown'. Characterful hotel, but not good value for money.

We stayed a night travelling from south coast to Aberdeen. This was an excellent stop, a bit off the beaten track ...but we had spent the day on motorways. Staff were charming, friendly and helpful and the "pub group" was well done. The room was a little cramped with a single and a double but all was clean and tidy. Better than a roadside travelodge!!
