Volcano Union Inn and Pub

If you are traveling through California gold country, you must stop at the Volcano Union Inn and Pub. The town of Volcano itself is a hidden gem, and the Inn and Pub is a great place to stop and have a great meal and stay the night of you wish. The hospitality here is second to none. And the food is amazing. They serve local wine and beer from the best offerings in the area. And if you need to stay the night, no problem. They have 4 historic rooms that have been tastefully appointed. Two with a large shared balcony out front. We recently had a family reunion there and rented all four rooms. It was great being the only ones there after hours. This allowed us to play tabletop shuffleboard until 3am! Another nice feature is they offer free breakfast. Not just pastries and coffee, but a full breakfast. Amazing! Do yourself a favor and check this place out. It is California history at it’s best!

Stayed two nights during an Amador County wine event! We were so happy that we found quite a gem. We will definitely be back. The building itself is very old so not perfect but the rooms are comfortable with everything that you need for a good rest and the food served in the Pub is fabulous! Eric, Claudia, Aly, Bailey to name just a few were so friendly, eager to make your stay as wonderful as possible. We had a minor plumbing problem in one of the rooms and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. You can feel that these kids all love what they do and where they work. Oh and did I mention the made to order breakfast included with your Inn stay?? AMAZING! We will be back for sure.

Picked this Inn as on the way to Kirkwood. Expectation was just another B&B. Was I mistaken! What a wonderful place! Beautiful pub, great food, and excellent and friendly customer service! Easily made it on our "let's do it again" list!

Our absolute favorite place to stay!! Just stayed for a birthday celebration and Elizabeth and the staff are incredibly accommodating! So friendly and warm! The food is delicious, especially the breakfast!! Yum! I hate to write a good review so that no one else finds out about this place! Lol. We like to think of it as our little hidden gem!! Can’t wait to go back! We had to leave early on our last day because our little one was sick and Elizabeth packed up our breakfast to go and within a week we had a very nice card from Elizabeth and the staff thanking us for our stay and even mentioned our little one!! Seriously the best staff ever!! Hats off to the chefs!!

Our second stay at the Volcano, as delightful as the first. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing - we'd go back just for the breakfasts! We also had dinner on the night we arrived, a great selection and an enjoyable meal. We use the Volcano as a base for visiting the many wineries in Amador county.
