Volcano Union Inn and Pub

Stayed the weekend to celebrate my 10-year wedding anniversary with my husband and couldn't have been more pleased. The place is adorable with every detail accounted for. The food and service is incredible, as led and prepared by the innkeeper, Heather. HIGHLY recommended.

The Union Inn is a fabulous place with terrific staff and great food. Volcano is a quiet hideaway and makes a great base for exploring Amador County wineries. We love this place and look forward to returning. Breakfast is awesome.

Came across this gem by total coincidence and wow what a great place!! The food was incredible, the environment stellar and the staff and accommodations were next level awesome!! We will definitely be back in the quick near future.

Amazing place and people.

We spent a Thursday night here after visiting the Black Chasm Cave. The restaurant was closed, but we enjoyed a delicious cooked to order hot breakfast on Friday morning. The outside patio was open and we enjoyed sitting under the trees and listening to the birds. In the morning I had my coffee on the expansive front porch which had plenty of comfortable seating. There were games, books, snacks and movies to enjoy. Downstairs there was a game room with shuffle board and darts. I think it's open on the weekends. Everyone was very friendly. We had dinner at the local grocery store around the corner. Burgers and beers. It was fun to walk around town and enjoy the quiet. I would love to return and watch a show at the Volcano Theater.

A sweet place to stay. We have stayed here the Friday after Thanksgiving to be close to family near the Inn and have always been happy with our choice. We were leaving before breakfast and they were kind enough to leave us delicious fresh fruit and granola for our drive. They have a great library and suggestions for things to do in the area.

Driving up Highway 88, we wanted to stop at Indian Grinding Stone Park for a future camping experience ...and after touring, decided to continue up the road to Volcano. It was towards the end of the day, so we decided to grab some food at the Union Hotel and Pub. We hadn’t been there in sometime (years in fact) and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was and how pleasant the staff were. Attentive, reasonably priced, ample portions, pleasant atmosphere ...a great experience!

We had great service and enjoyed eating dinner on the beautiful patio. The mushroom bruschetta was a tasty appetizer. Nice selection of local Amador county wines and beer. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our waitress even gave us a tour of the inn.

We stayed in Limon room and were not disappointed. We traveled with some friends that stayed in a room down the hall from us. The room was very comfortable and clean. Loved that there was a clawfoot tub. The atmosphere of this place is very peaceful upstairs. The restaurant downstairs had great food and the service was amazing! We ate dinner downstairs in the restaurant, and when it came time for dessert, our server offered to bring up our order to the room. The balcony access directly from our room was a huge plus. The next morning we came down for breakfast which was prepared by the Innkeeper. Fresh coffee and orange juice were offered as soon as we walked in. It was fresh fruit parfaits, mini cinnamon pastries, sourdough avocado toast with poached egg and arugula. This place is an absolute GEM and we will definitely be returning.

Stayed a night when we drove up to watch a friend perform in a play at the Volcano amphitheater . Had dinner in the pub before the play and the food was fantastic. The service was even better. The Inn has four rooms upstairs. We stayed in the Terra Cotta and it was spacious. The bed was wonderful. Breakfast the next morning in the patio area was tasty. This is not a late night town. Everything closes by 8. Volcano is a quaint old gold mining town. Stop by if you're in the area!
