Bed was good

This place offers rooms attached to their main house. The AC is also connected, you have no control of the temp., also cooking smells come into your room from owners house. You never see the people that you checkin with. They send door code to email. When we arrived, we had no cell phone service, there was no one to speak to, only a phone number on the wall. When you have no cell service, how do you call or get email. We had been driving all day. You need to warn people of this on the booking .com site so that they understand that this is not a normal hotel/motel.

The room was spacious and well appointed and maintained. Modern bathroom, including hairdryer. Good lighting throughout, low lighting options for evening. Very comfortable bed and pillows, quality bed linen and towels. Good outlook, easy parking and access to property. Reliable wifi. Good storage options and hanging space. Small fridge with freezer much appreciated. Microwave also good, we were able to boil water for tea & coffee. Loved the plantation shutters, however some people may be bothered by the light from the verandah lights that came in through the shutters (the room was never fully dark). Snacks were provided in the room (granola bars and fruit mix), but not tea/coffee - we brought our own.

No kettle, cups, bowls or cutlery for food preparation. Having a fridge and microwave has limited use without the cups, bowls, spoons to eat the food / prepare lunches. However, we could source disposable options from nearby gas station to use in the room. The host brought a coffee maker over upon request for kettle, however, I was unsure how to use the coffee maker to boil water. The microwave was an easier option, with a BYO ceramic mug. We prepared our own breakfast due to early starts for summer hiking. The host breakfast at 8.45am was too late in the morning for our itinerary. However, these were all little issues that only take a tiny bit away from the property, very highly recommend this property.

We loved the view and that the property was clean and quiet. What we didn’t like was the fact that we didn’t have control of our AC. It felt fine when we got there, but as it got later in the evening, it got warmer and by the middle of the night it was so hot that we were up at 4:45 and left the property before 7. On our way out we talked to the people next door to us and they said they were cold so they turned off their air, so we assume they had control of both rooms. We also thought the room was extremely small. It said there was a seperate seating area, but it was a chair at a desk directly under the TV. The room was too small for 4 people.
