The area and entrance is very dodgy. We arrived in the evening and it was completely scary. Luckily the driver lead the way to the hotel from the car. We paid for a room with AC but it didn't work so we ended up using the fan all night. Also, we had some neighbours caughing continuously. Thank god for ear plugs.
PLMy silver earrings, which I left on the nightstand next to the bed, went missing in this hotel. We left the hotel for a few hours and gave notice that we were not to clean the room. When we returned, the door was locked, so no one had broken in. There were no earrings. They were of great value to me. I do not tolerate theft This has never happened to me.
USAfter a disastrous night across town with no electricity, finding this place (Room 303) was like a palace with cavernous room, vaulted ceilings. comfortable bed with mosquito net (not needed), a huge bathroom with hot water, and AC that needed turned down at night; too much for just a bed sheet. WiFi was fast within the room, double plug sockets on both sides of the bed. The daily, rooftop breakfasts were mainly the same but a nice start to the day. I couldn't have asked for anything more and the nightly rate was almost too good to be true! The historic building is off to side of the central area but within easy walking distance of anywhere in Stonetown. I very highly recommend this place!
Towels were rough on sunburned skin and lighting wasn't the best; very minor details.

GBIt’s a pretty old Arabic house, very central
Because it’s an old house, I didn’t expect modernity, but the place isn’t clean and my room was in poor conditions. I saw a mouse in my corridor and later a cockroach in my room, there was a lot of sand on the floor (which shows they didn’t clean after the last guest), dirty walls, dirty mosquito net, very noisy fan, the hot water wasn’t working and the shower is displayed in a inconvenient way. At least the AC was working. I find such a waste of potential for this pretty historical house… with a bit of cheap and easy investment to fix those things the guest experience would be way better, they could charge a bit more, and in the end profit more.
